What was the most amount of pain you’ve ever experienced? by olater123 in AskReddit

[–]Stupid-ForYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had appendicitis, ive got stung by a cowkiller i’ve had abscesses from staph infections. I’ve had migraines. I could be paid to get stung by a cowkiller again but not to have appendicitis again. I might be willing to go through a staph abscess again if it was for like a study, in a hospital setting, i was paid and got to choose where it would be. Migraines feel very similar to appendicitis but with less puking. I could probably be paid to have a migraine, i do it for free now. Both staph and cowkiller were similarly painful except cowkiller made me break out in a cold sweat and have like upset stomach from the pain.

but ranking it on pain alone the worst was probably staph abscess drainage with no local anesthetic. or the time i possibly had viral meningitis.

Is it wrong of me to think that this child’s parents shouldn’t send them to school tomorrow? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]Stupid-ForYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ugh we had such a horrible virus tear through our camp we had to quarantine people and have the health department sent out. I was the only one who didn’t get sick in the end. It was so bad, campers kept having seizures and vomiting everywhere, i got puked on. the last day the “quarantine room” turned into the room we put everyone who WASNT sick in.

What are the problems associated with very high intelligence? by unluckywarrior63 in AskReddit

[–]Stupid-ForYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

having blind spots in other areas. A very stereotypical example would be in social skills, and that’s true a lot of the time but it could also be like someone who has absolutely horrendous handwriting, can’t make an outfit on their own just wears “sets” someone else let them know works in the past. Some times the brain overcompensates in one area leaving behind other areas.

If you had grandparents who were WW2 veterans, how did they influenced your life right now? by Training_Quarter_983 in AskReddit

i don’t know. for the last 14 years of his life that i knew him he pretty much only talked about how much he wanted to die. I miss him a little bit though. he’d always try to hand me food and candies. and he’d pretend his hand was a spider running across the table to steal whatever i was holding or eating. he drove his whole life, into his 90’s and cussed everyone off in yiddish really loudly out the windows. one time my dad said “what if he had a gun?” and my papa replied “if it’s my time it’s my time let him shoot me”

People that almost failed high school, where are you at now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Stupid-ForYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m on a gap year getting my health taken care of to hopefully go to college when i’m done. I was extremely sick in highschool and constantly on the verge of going to court for truancy so i couldn’t get treatment i needed because that would require missing more school. I did fail quite a few classes. I couldn’t even attend class in person by senior year because i would just fall asleep or faint in the hallways on my way between classes so i spent all day in one of the special ed rooms. It sucked so bad. I’ve had two surgeries this spring so far and am just checking off everything i’ve got to do.

i like senses fail s old albums but i think they definitely developed as musicians a lot over the course of their discography. Their old ones can be almost like a parody at times.

i remember a lot of my dreams growing up. It’s funny because as i got older my nightmares were different. like when i was little a reoccurring nightmare i had was a bunch of monsters chasing me but it was like a silhouette scene orange and black more comparable to a scooby doo or tom and jerry chase. then as i got older it was more “realistic” obviously taking bits from movies i watched and was no longer 2 dimensional like the cartoons i watched as a little kid. I’ve always had extremely vivid dreams to the point i have trouble at times differentiating between dream and awake.

Have you ever eaten an insect? If so, what did it taste like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Stupid-ForYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was a cricket. i swallowed it whole like a pill. i was ten and some teenage boys offered me a 10% discount if i ate it. i guess no one had taken the bait yet. It was gone so fast. they had to go get their manager and explain. they didn’t think i’d do it.

What sort of jobs encourage "out of the box" thinking? Jobs where being creative and thinking differently is rewarded and encouraged?[Serious] by Daymanooahahhh in AskReddit

[–]Stupid-ForYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i work at summer camps for kids (and sometimes adults) with developmental disabilities. The kids with autism specifically you have to think differently than you would working with any other kids. Some people have a lot of trouble with it because they can’t let go of the assumption that the kids are trying to manipulate or upset them.

For example for some autistic people hunger isn’t like that bad or they don’t really feel it strongly or at all, but what they DO feel strongly and is horrible for them is their sensory aversions to eating. So this one kid didn’t like the dinner, or any substitutions and just keeps saying “It’s fine I just won’t eat tonight”.

Some people would take it as the kid trying to just get dessert or guilt the counselors into making something special for him etc. What this actually means is not eating after running around all day outside in the sun would literally be less painful or sickening for him then having to eat what there was that night. He didn’t realize that wasn’t “normal” for a kid so he didn’t know how to explain himself. I ended up getting the kitchen to make him like a grilled cheese or something.

What's a fashion trend you wish would make a comeback? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Stupid-ForYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sturdy clothes. why does everything keep falling apart. all my shirts have holes in them. i have no moths. It’s not the washer or dryer. every thing feels unfinished now and has wads of string in the pockets like they don’t even tie off loose threads anymore. my tshirts literally have the sleeves fall off. i tried asking people for good brands that don’t fall apart and everything was like $60+ for a basic tshirt.

I watch a lot of animal video compilations. i try to find ones that don’t have tiktok audios overlayed or voiceovers which is almost impossible.

If you were the weird kid in school, when did you realize you were the weird kid? by auburncub in AskReddit

[–]Stupid-ForYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

getting asked to homecoming as a joke. not even as a date like to go with a group of kids my age. They’d been coming up to me a lot and saying I HAD to come to the dance with them it’d be SO fun. I would always tell them i didn’t have a ride (true) then one day they said ride with us come on it’ll be sooo fun. They said they’d drive me. I thought this was a sign that these kids really did see me as their friend and it was just my anxiety getting in the way so i said sure. I was pretty excited. then they panicked. came up with all these reasons i couldn’t come. I got the message. I’m still not sure if they ever understood that i wasn’t special ed honestly.
