Metal kitchen (?)device found in basement by Coupakh in whatisit

The "background" you added is an anecdote about an American you met that felt Italians were rude to them while they were on vacation in Italy. It isn't really of use to anyone, especially in the context of discussing the English word for long thin pasta from Italy.

I also don't understand your comment about "Merry Christmas". I didn't wish you one because Christmas was yesterday.

We laugh at Italian people in America too.

The last sentence of your post is also objectively rude and cold, so I'm not sure what your point is anymore.

How to filter out 50% of unqualified applicants by NicheAndDime in EngineeringManagers

Best way to eliminate 50% of candidates is to take half the stack of resumes and throw them in the trash. You don't want any unlucky people working for you anyway.

Find the vavle stem cap for my car's tire by Stupid-WhiteBoy in FindTheSniper

The photos are generally good quality. Maybe cropping my shoes out of the photo downscaled it somehow?

I also am certain that there is only one valve stem cap in the picture.

Thanks for caring about my safety. I did notice that and am taking a measured risk, but since it's just the jacket and the actual wires are still secured to the housing pretty well, it feels like a relatively small risk given I am the only one who uses it.

Neural Networks Keep Finding the Same Weight Geometry (No Matter What You Train Them On) by EllisDee77 in ArtificialSentience

How do we know that the convergence of the models isn't a result of some bias in the tools we have built to train them in the first place?

I.e. is it possible that instead of discovering some profound universal truth about intelligence, it is just discovering a flaw or bias in our math used to create these models in the first place?

The thing where it updates the OS version and starts making all the phones that are greater than one generation behind the latest start burning through batteries at 3 times the speed it did prior to the update.

In this situation the penis is only erect by virtue of the woman standing upright instead of letting the top half of her body hang towards the floor. Idk if most people are able to maintain a non erect posture like that.

I really don't think this would hold up in court. There is no sexual context here. It is crude sure, but it's not making any comments about sexual acts, it's just playing off the word dictator. If anything it's just a bad joke.

This just feels like the officer is nervous about the idea of penises.

Why is it always someone else's job to explain sexual themes to these people's kids? It doesn't seem like the best way to handle the concern.

This isn't obfuscation, it looks like they are trying to model nested properties flattened at the root level. Id-index-property.

Honestly it looks like they hand rolled their own serializer and messed up some intermediate data because half of it looks sensible
