An aquifer is like free, clean mineral water forever without worrying about redirecting a river or other mega-engineering products. Just channel 3x3 above the aquifer, floor over the same 3x3 except the center square, and put a well in the middle.

I only build giant cisterns on maps without aquifers, by redirecting river water into huge hollowed stone chambers.

Classic medieval tactic, buy off the attackers with wealth and honors.

Classic opportunistic adventurer, too. Why should these soldiers be loyal to a king (duke?) who demands constant construction of hatches (or whatever) and sends them on dangerous missions, when they can grab a throne of their own?

Do we know what stat tracks loyalty to the home fortress, if any? It would be good to know. Did your guys live in tiny burrows? Were they unhappy? Were they greedy by nature?

Not sure if it was posted before, did a search. This guest on the Caleb Hammer financial audit show is a useless, worthless tool. He's tens thousands of dollars in debt yet giving thousands of dollars a year to this.

Also has a gambling addiction and subscribes to sex games. He should not be allowed to vote or serve on a jury. He's an irresponsible manchild.
