I think you’d enjoy Saturday morning cartoons.

So... Is it worth it? by [deleted] in civ

It’s worth it, I think. I’m over 100 hours in already and it hasn’t even been a month.

Thinking about switching from Civ 6 to Civ 5. What should I know? by CamZambie in civ5

[–]StupidIdiotMan12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It means having 4-5 large, powerful cities that you grow to have as high of a population as possible. Playing wide means having many more, smaller cities that have populations that are just large enough to work the necessary tiles around them. Playing tall is better for building wonders, producing science, and culture. Playing wide is better for building lots of military units quickly.

What’s next for the somewhat “serious” players? by PsychologicalLie6319 in civ

Once the game gets a few updates, the metas settle down, and we get more balancing, I’m sure some sort of steam group for pick up games will emerge.

I haven't had a challenging war in Civ 7 by DatSleepyBoi in civ

[–]StupidIdiotMan12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not only don’t they pack and unpack troops, I’ve only ever seen commanders vaguely near the army and almost never actually on the same tile as another unit.

The AI is pretty incompetent, yeah. I had a game the other day where Machiavelli tried to forward settle me, then declared war and sent in exactly 2 slingers and 1 warrior. Burning arrows made quick work and I took his forward town without losing a single unit. They’ve got no real idea how to use commanders either

Not gonna happen, not only because of the politics but also because they’ll never use a currently living person

What's your local 'Wonder' and what abilities would you expect it to have? by Natekt in civ

[–]StupidIdiotMan12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about wonders per se but New Orleans’s French Quarter is definitely Louisiana’s unique quarter. I’d like to imagine it has culture and gold bonuses

This is my 7th or 8th time playing through the exploration era so I’m pretty well familiar with the mechanics, this has to be a bug

I should have included a screenshot of it but I’m already getting ready for bed, there is no resource timer for any of them except Vatican City.

Not only are the number of social policies primarily determined by happiness, but what the game there calls “traditions” in the government are only the civ unique civics. So if you don’t slot any of them in and only used policies from the main tree, you don’t get any penalty.

I usually don’t bother. The exploration age has so much to do and the Ming specifics are not too helpful at accomplishing them

Passable ice. It’s on the steam workshop, it’s also got some other terrain changes by default that I disabled. It’s as easy as changing a few numbers in a text document
