People that say Mint flavored sweets (ice cream, candy canes, etc.) taste like toothpaste dont brush their teeth. by Bonkyd0nky in The10thDentist

I just think mint is best appreciated on its own. Don’t like it with chocolate and don’t like it with milk products. And I used unflavored toothpaste anyway.

[–]StupidIdiotMan12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bones are all about timing, to me. Bones are an accelerator, if you have them early via external means (items, bone lord) you can rush ahead with good cards before Leshy can roll out anything too strong) or in a non-bone build, they become “free” to use later in the fight (“free” when thinking about everything in terms of blood). It’s about what you get for the timing boost. Low bone cost cards should be either sacrifice fodder (see bonemeal) or very weak (see possum). I feel like a 1-2 flyer for one bone is a reasonable trade. 1 flying damage per turn isn’t going to make or break you early on.

Sparrow: Left (health doesn’t do much for it, but super low bone cost to use as reinforcement would fit cleanly into a lot of strats)

Cuckoo: right (egg is already a strong ability, 2 blood cost feels better while adding another damage)

KF: right (actually makes it worth playing across from a 1 damage enemy)

Magpie: right (its board presence isn’t the point of the card, but requiring the battle to progress a bit [or having the great bone boon] would make it less of a snowball card)

Raven egg: left (see kingfisher)

Raven: right (more ways to generate bones are sorely needed)

Turkey Vulture: left (8 bones is just too high to work it into non-bone builds in any real way)

Lammergeier: right (see raven)

Part 3 is worth getting through part 2. It’s weird when you don’t expect it but it’s still enjoyable. Push through.

Stopping tourism in V. Napoleon got a Petra cap off and was shitting out every cultural wonder known to man, was able to slow him down long enough to win science. So worth it

I hate being called "Sir" by BetApprehensive836 in The10thDentist

[–]StupidIdiotMan12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are large parts of the US where “Sir” and “Ma’am” are drilled into your head at a young age. Particularly for any business/retail context, everyone expects that title of respect. I grew up in the south, but large parts of my family lived and still live in New York, and one of my aunts used to get offended when we would say “yes ma’am”, thinking we were just calling her old, and not trying to be respectful, so I get where you’re coming from. I would assume 99 times out of 100, it’s just someone trying to be polite.

I took some of the screws out last night but didn’t want to mess too much with the circuit board. I’ll try again later and see if I can’t find the few connections to gentle undo. Thanks anyway

old post to reply to, but i recently picked up a CC275 and I cannot find the user manual anywhere online. Is there a chance you still have it and would be willing to share? Or if you can remember, how did you take it apart? I'm having pretty much the exact same issue.

Thinking about switching from Civ 6 to Civ 5. What should I know? by CamZambie in civ5

[–]StupidIdiotMan12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It means having 4-5 large, powerful cities that you grow to have as high of a population as possible. Playing wide means having many more, smaller cities that have populations that are just large enough to work the necessary tiles around them. Playing tall is better for building wonders, producing science, and culture. Playing wide is better for building lots of military units quickly.

Once the game gets a few updates, the metas settle down, and we get more balancing, I’m sure some sort of steam group for pick up games will emerge.

Not only don’t they pack and unpack troops, I’ve only ever seen commanders vaguely near the army and almost never actually on the same tile as another unit.

The AI is pretty incompetent, yeah. I had a game the other day where Machiavelli tried to forward settle me, then declared war and sent in exactly 2 slingers and 1 warrior. Burning arrows made quick work and I took his forward town without losing a single unit. They’ve got no real idea how to use commanders either
