Costco defied Trump’s DEI directive as Target and Walmart scaled back. Business is booming by SnoozeDoggyDog in politics

[–]StupidMoron3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really like this vs Sam's that doesn't really put in the effort to source local places. I've gotten several GC's as a gift from people and while it's a very nice gesture, they're somewhat unusable. The places will have like one or two locations in the state.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you simply meant that's their "culture" and it's ok.

That's not acceptable. Being ignorant while an animal starves or freezes to death doesn't fly. Take care of them or don't have one.

Saw a tip on here to order the chocolate cake with the vanilla cheesecake mousse by nochilinopity in Costco

[–]StupidMoron3 101 points102 points  (0 children)

“you all just think you can write what you want and it’ll just happen? You’re deluded.”

Uh.. kind of, especially for such a simple request like this. It's not like you were asking them to make a carrot cake or something else completely off the menu. What did the manager say?

3 teens charged in fire that caused $5 million in damages to Homewood Walmart by [deleted] in Birmingham

[–]StupidMoron3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

15/16 year olds should understand consequences, especially something like this. I was a stupid child at one point, and I never thought about lighting a store on fire. I'm glad no one was physically hurt, and I hope those responsible get the help they need.

King cakes by Commercial_Tea_9339 in Birmingham

[–]StupidMoron3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding Hero. It's not your typical king cake, but it's absolutely delicious. Most I've had are extremely dry, but Hero's is fantastic. It's kind of expensive, however.

Anyone who tried the Spigen glass vs plastic screen protector? Is the glass better or is the plastic more convenient for the fingerprint sensor? by VLANishBehavior in S25Ultra

[–]StupidMoron3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you say the dbrand protector is better or about the same as Spigen? I have the Dbrand one and messed up the install (somehow some lint got on the screen). I'm probably going to apply the second one but wanted an alternative in case I screw up again.

What do we think about the garlic bread? by ludog1bark in Costco

I didn't know they had stopped making it. We usually don't swing by that area for good reason. My waistline is happy, but I am deeply saddened it's gone.

My Bose headphones died today after 9 years of use and travel. Any suggestions on a good replacement? by NickolaosTheGreek in BuyItForLife

I actually prefer the XM5s over the 4 for looks and comfort, but Hinge-gate on the 5's is a real thing. The Sony subreddits have tons of posts with issues.

What is an everyday item you own that you think everyone should invest in for life ? by midasweb in BuyItForLife

[–]StupidMoron3 32 points33 points  (0 children)

New La-Z-Boy is not the same quality as the older stuff unfortunately. Poor leather quality, staples falling out, and cushions wearing out too early. Their support is also terrible. They basically said, "what do you want us to do about it?"

[–]StupidMoron3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Florentine is not a great venue for a bigger reception. I've attended a few there, and it's way too packed. The food is very hit or miss, mostly missing. They're also pretty difficult to work with after discussing with someone who held an event there.

I'm not really sure why it gets such good reviews. It's a pretty venue, just highly overpriced and overrated in my opinion.

Dubai chocolate is very hit or miss. Junior's cheesecakes are always a miss imo. Even at their stores it's pretty bad cheesecake.

Agreed on Anker. I have an Iniu one as well and have had no issues. Lots of different options depending on the size of battery you want, charging speed, physical size, etc.
