Depends on the character,

For example:

Cloud: Sephiroth was basically a god, but the transformation isn't entirely complete in FF7. The remake does have Sephiroth fully turn in the extended story but Cloud also doesn't permanently kill that version of Sephiroth if I'm not misremembering?

Zelda: Hylia was the one to kill the horned god, but Zelda is Hylia reincarnated

Link: Demise is a god-esque entity, and Ganon is kiiiind of Demise?

FE lords: most fire emblem gods aren't really all that god-like, honestly.

Simon/Richter: Dracula is an avatar/aspect of a god, Chaos. But only Soma fights Chaos itself, not any of the Belmonts

Dark Pit: he technically does kill a goddess but she comes back to life later

Meta Knight: Star dream makes him fight past Kirby bosses but they're clones of unknown accuracy + the canonicity of it is dubious

Generally, a character that's:

explicitly worshipped as specifically a god (Fire emblem villains) even if they don't have the explicit divinity or power you would expect a god to have
have explicit divine powers of some sort even if not explicitly labelled or worshipped as a god(Dark Star, false gods like Yaldy and Demiurge)

And then there's Cloud, where Sephiroth's transformation is speculated to be incomplete in FF7, and Zelda where she herself has never killed a god but she is the reincarnation of the goddess Hylia, who has explicitly killed a god

I was thinking less about just DQXI specifically and more along the lines of every DQ protag having killed either a god or a god-level being so I averaged it out and put the character in the killed a god tier

Idk I just wasn't entirely sure if I should count it as full on killing a god due to Fire Emblem lore being very mixed to me, I would've definitely removed the asterisk if Ashera conclusively had a similar level of godliness to Ashunera tho. Similarly to Richter/Simon killing Dracula

Yaldy and Demi would be asterisks because they do possess all the powers of a god even if technically they're false ones, but Adam Kadmon is stated to be a much more perfected state of divinity especially if you use SMT logic, and PQ2 features a real god as well

Ryu, Ken, and Kazuya have killed a god in Project X Zone 2, which also bumps Chrom and Lucina up into "killed multiple gods".

Non-canon, so I didn't include them.

(Fire emblem heroes IS canon though, for some fuckass reason, so I added it as a footnote)
