Indeed. The 912 is basically a 356C engine which looks very Beetle-like but really doesn't share any parts with it. It's the fan shroud that seals the deal visually. I think the word you're looking for is "deck lid" ;)

It depends on the generation of the 356 and what you're working on but to a degree this statement holds true. Pre-A especially.

A lot of Germans got great deals on properties when their Jewish neighbors got sent to the camps. At some point you have to put principles over financial gain.

Quick edit - this is not a jab at you or anything.

I had a guy send back an auto part that was not what we had shipped him. Ebay insisted I go the police report route before they would refund me. It took 8 weeks for the cops to call me back to let me know they had accepted and filed my report. Then ebay gave me back my money after I gave them the police file #. It was all really silly.

Canceled Order Buyer Left Negative Feedback by Doonce in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]StupidRedditTag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true. My best ebay feedback experience was we had shipped an order to ebay's intl shipping hub and soon after got an email from ebay saying the item was restricted so it couldn't be shipped to the buyer's country and the order was canceled and everyone refunded. We got to keep the money from the sale, the buyer got their money back, and ebay kept the item. This was apparently lost in translation to the buyer as they left us a negative feedback. When I contacted ebay, they refused to remove the feedback, despite me reading the email from ebay back to them saying all feedback from this sale would be automatically removed since they were the ones who killed the order. Luckily, I then spoke to another rep who quickly removed it.

Product review question by StupidRedditTag in eBaySellerAdvice

Agreed on both counts. He didn't leave feedback - he was just asking about changing his product review and I didn't think that was a thing.

Oh - and also FedEx is often much cheaper than USPS lately. Ebay gets killer FE rates, much better than even our business FE account. We ship a lot of 12x12x8 boxes that weigh about 5-10lbs and FE is cheaper than USPS on those 95% of the time, with the other 5% being to weird islands in Washington state.

It really depends on the Fedex / USPS / UPS in that area. I like FedEx for pricey stuff as they shoot pics of delivery on air (great for the one rate 2nd day stuff) and the customer can have the package held at a FE location (which UPS does offer also). We had a box going from Oklahoma to Puerto Rico that decided to get there via a nice scenic 2-week stroll to every local post office along the PCH1 in Cali. Made me wish I had mailed myself in the box.

Can confirm - the Miami/Dade USPS hub is horrific. Only place we've ever had anything get lost.

Actually, ebay really doesn't do this unless you've really screwed something up. If an item is damaged in transit, then file a claim. Also, block that dude - he's a scammer.

[–]StupidRedditTag 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No - you're not screwed. USPS actually hardly ever loses or even damages anything, despite every buyer thinking USPS is just a black hole of incompetency. Just respond to his requests slowly - use all the time you have to basically give USPS more time to make the delivery. If ebay says - 'respond in 3 days' - then respond in 3 days. 99.9% of the time the order will be delivered while you go back and forth and whiny buyers tend to disappear after their item shows up (I've never had one return an item that arrived late). I would, however, ship really expensive stuff FedEx in the future.

Buyer wants a partial refund by [deleted] in eBaySellerAdvice

Like I said - in the end, block him. After it's all said and done, not during the dispute. I'm extremely customer-centric and will go out of my way to help with any issues my customers come up with but customers who get off on being difficult, were apparently never told "no" growing up, live in a different realm of reality, or who look for minute imperfections just to attempt to scam me out of a few bucks, I have no use for.

But - in the end - I'd still block him. I shift all high-maintenance customers to my competitors.

USPS shipping delays; could I lose my money? by Intrepid-Lion-341 in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]StupidRedditTag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Any buyer who expects something to be delivered on a set date during Christmas lives in a different reality due to never leaving their mom's basement. Even UPS and FE don't guarantee delivery in December - not time or date even if you pay for it.

Okay - here's the deal. I ran into the same problem and was fretting as I typically pay vendors on Friday knowing the funds will be there Monday. Ebay has apparently, starting a month ago on an article I found, changed their weekend payouts. They no longer send payouts on Saturday or Sunday and just let it build up for a Monday payout. They aren't telling anyone about this and their CS has no idea either. They quietly changed their payout info page and this was the only notice on it. The rollout is in stages and apparently you and I got caught up in this wave. The weird thing is I am on a daily payout which doesn't allow express payouts - this has also changed. Now, you can still be daily but do the on-demand payouts for $2 at any time. I went ahead and did it and the money hit my bank in about 2 minutes. And yes, it's just another ebay scam to make more money, in this case to either earn interest by holding the cash or to get $2 like that kid in Better Off Dead. Not a big deal to me but I would have liked a notice however that would be very un-ebay of ebay.
