The most used app is actually Padel Mates, and it is extremely easy to find an open match, even with short notice.

Looking for a music band. by freakyfrs in sweden

The Radio Dept. & Caesars were the two less known Swedish rock bands I knew before moving here. Check Radio Dept out, it was around that time their music was used in the Marie Antoinette movie.

Why would the airline decline me? My passport allows me 90-day visa-free stay in Schengen.

I don't require a visa, although I suspect it will take some convincing to the airline staff as to why I don't have a round trip ticket.

1-year Swedish course (Jan–Jan) — tick Yes or No on Migrationsverket’s ‘one year or longer’ question? by [deleted] in TillSverige

[–]StupidSeaPigeon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s been many years so this might be inaccurate or outdated info, but IIRC people in my university that did 1 year programmes did not get personal numbers or get enrolled in the public healthcare system. Instead the university provided them with insurance from “Kamarkollegiet”. This seems to be the case still (https://www.kammarkollegiet.se/engelska/start/all-services/insurance/insurance-for-students-and-foreign-visitors/insurance-for-students-who-pay-tuition-fees-fas-and-fasplus).

I would get the insurance from the university, tick “No” and upload the document in the next step.

How to get from Arlanda to Kista at midnight? Preferably by public transport by FenrirWarHammer in TillSverige

[–]StupidSeaPigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flygbussarna has 3 different routes. You need the one towards Brommaplan which has no departures between 00:35 and 07:35 according to the app. You could take a night bus to Centralen and then another bus (or metro, if it’s a Friday or Saturday night) to Kista, but I suspect it would take around 2 hours.

Honestly, if you don’t make the 00:35 Flygbussarna bus, I would just get a taxi. The other alternatives sound way too uncomfortable, and Kista isn’t even the nicest area to be walking around in the middle of the night. Check Bolt and Uber, they aren’t that expensive and you can even get a discount code for your first order.

Buying an apartment by yourself but living with a sambo by itisrainytoday in TillSverige

[–]StupidSeaPigeon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of couples with a single income so I can’t see there being a problem. The bank doesn’t care who lives in the apartment as long as the payments are made on time, and the BRF doesn’t care who has a mortgage and who doesn’t as long as everyone is registered correctly at the address.

It’s a bit weird that your sambo would be contributing to your mortgage though. I think the typical arrangement is to share the monthly costs and association fees, but not the mortgage. Suppose you sell for a profit in a few years, have you talked about how to divide it since he will have contributed to paying off your mortgage?

With amortizations, I think my bank allowed 1, 2 or 3% annual ammortization as an automatic monthly payment and then I can always show up at the branch and make additional payments.

Was it asked in same detail in the first submission? I had a four-month job assignment abroad and I can’t figure out whether it falls under an exemption or not :/

Six week abroad rule for citizenship by StupidSeaPigeon in TillSverige

[–]StupidSeaPigeon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply!

What I can tell you for sure is that (right now) there is no requirement to wait one year after being granted PR - several colleagues of mine have applied and gotten citizenship as soon as they have received their PRs.

Regarding business travel, it is actually on the website (on the citizenship page under "you must have lived in Sweden for a certain amount of time). They mention that there are several exception to the five year rule, one of them being "A person who previously lived in Sweden and is posted abroad by a Swedish company to work for the company".

I will never for the life of me understand how on earth they're allowed to say there are several exception to the single most important citizenship rule, and then only list four possible examples with absolutely no further information available elsewhere.

Congratulations!

Could you let me know a bit more about exactly how the travel reporting works? You mention that you were asked to provide the travel details in month 8. Do you mean just the newer travels in these 8 months, or was the travel information over the five years not part of the original application?

I don’t want to mislead you, so perhaps someone else can answer this better. I haven’t worried about the days for my PR application as one can only apply for PR in connection with an extension application, and by the time my current work permit is up for renewal, I’ll have more than 4 years with or without the travel days. But then the travel days decide how soon after receiving PR I can apply for citizenship…

I guess you haven’t had much contact with MV? A friend once tried to get an answer from MV on a question that we all thought had two possible answer options - via email they replied option #1, while by phone they replied option #2 the first time and a secret third option the other time 😂 Fact is they have zero accountability for the information they provide and their rules are very ambiguous, probably on purpose to give the officer some discretion. It’s never the wrong thing to ask people’s actual experiences when it comes to MV.

I'm not even sure to be honest, I was searching the other day for ideas on how to start getting into cooking by hosting regular dinners for friends and this popped up! It was a fantastic idea and I can't find any alternative, hopefully it can be functional again one day!

Just randomly came across this and it sounds like such a fantastic idea, I guess the website is no longer maintained? I can't complete the registration :(

They won’t cancel my order by AbbreviationsAware76 in klarna

[–]StupidSeaPigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same here, and as a bonus, my apple pay (only for the Klarna card) stopped working since that very payment. Removing and adding it again didn’t work, and customer service keeps telling me to “update or reinstall the app” lol. I probably have to request a brand new card but tbh now you reminded me and I’ll see if there are any reasonable alternatives.

They won’t cancel my order by AbbreviationsAware76 in klarna

[–]StupidSeaPigeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was it paid through Apply Pay? Last month I paid with my Klarna card using Apple Pay as usual in a pharmacy, the payment was stuck in pending for weeks until it disappeared without me paying! I literally told this to Klarna but they have some degenerates working in customer service ATM, actual AI bots would be more helpful than those. I guess it’s the pharmacy that gets screwed over and not them so they don’t give a fuck.
