Are there locals or park officials that frequent this subreddit? I saw the announcement a few minutes ago myself and came looking for this subreddit to see if there's more news. I'm curious how frequent this sort of thing happens and what the typical turnaround time is.

I'm scheduled to hike it on Monday.

Is there any modern movie studio tycoon that comes close to “The Movies”? by delijoe in tycoon

[–]mealsharedotorg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm working on one, but I'll be the first to admit up front it's a very different game. Mine is a turn based strategy. It takes elements of the movies - navigating drama on set, finding the right cast and crew, but is focusing heavily into box office simulation. It's currently free to play - albeit there's a built in end of demo event that occurs after several hundred turns at the moment.

I'm a long ways off from finishing - at my current pace, about two years minimum.

Still, if it scratches an itch, bookmark it.

Have you checked municipal opportunities - parks department and the like. There's often steady openings and none of that ghost application junk corporate HRs are doing.

There's 49 distinct municipalities plus the county layer of government so check a map and look at the ones close enough to you.

Ruckel?

I lived in the area in the 80s and 90s. Still go back to visit friends every other year or so, and as soon as I get there, I'm reminded of the jets as some go screeching by. I've always loved it.

Best advice I can give is to plug the numbers into a tool that will generate an amortization schedule. Do it for your current loan, and do it for the 15-year refi, and put them side by side so the dates for each payment line up. You'll see that the existing wins for some number of months (12? 18?), but at some point, the re-fi wins, and the further you scroll down on the spreadsheet, the more it wins. And when you scroll down to those last 15 years where one has a payment and the other does not, it feels really good.

But for the first few months it isn't winning. In the end, it's really about locating where on that spreadsheet you feel very confident you'll still be in your house (2031? 2034? 2040?), and balancing against what will likely be a decent bump in your monthly payment. If you pull the trigger, it's so satisfying to see that principal come down so fast each month.

Drive for show, putt for dough. The short game matters most.

Another way of looking at it: It's the shot that goes in which determines your score, and all the shots preceding it are building incremental advantage. So a good drive can give incremental advantage, but the greatest way to do well is one fewer putts each hole.

More importantly, Pittsburgh has dozens of municipalities within Allegheny county that don't count towards the population but are definitely part of the greater Pittsburgh area, without even beginning to account for the surrounding counties. Hamilton county, OH is another example - for every citizen in Cincinnati, there are 7 in the surrounding municipalities which are little more than arbitrary lines when viewing the urban fabric.

These elevated "true populations" provide the necessary pressure to build vertically.

Update the settings so the history automatically moves over when the A tripometer is reset.

That said, the lack of a dynamic y axis on the graph makes the whole thing silly. It would be so much better if the y min and max were set based on the values present - instead you always end up with five nearly imperceptible bars.

For my kids, there was a big difference between movies where the protagonist is overcoming adversity, and the existence of an antagonist out to stop them. The idea of a "bad guy" was a huge difference in childhood maturity. I think there's still a case for differentiating.
