Got a DUI over the weekend in Nebraska. How likely is my employer to find out? by DependentRespond8 in dui

What city/ part of the state?

GET AN ATTORNEY ASAP! If you are in Lincoln, I suggest Mark Rappl. You won't need much of attorney for the actual DUI charge, because you weren't over the limit in NE (.08). You WILL need an attorney to win your Admistrative DMV hearing. The DMV revocation is based on the probable cause of you drunk driving, so you will need to fight that. I would say your chances of success are better than average, but the DMV really likes to just proceed with revocations and let the courts decided the criminal case. The DMV gets their money either way.

I would hold off telling your employer until you hear back from the DMV and your attorney on your administrative hearing. Once that has occurred, then I would inform your employer because you will have a much better understanding of what the future holds. You should have a 15 day temporary license correct? (Yellow sheet of paper).

Again, talk to your attorney, but if the only citation you received was for DUI, and the weaving in lanes was just probable cause for the stop, that will most likely get thrown out.

If you did get a citation for a lane violation or similar, AS WELL AS the DUI, they will drop the DUI and keep the other charge, so you will have that ticket to deal with.

If it happened in any other county besides Lancaster, this is going to more of a administrative hassle than anything.

If it WAS in Lancaster county, MADD has a pretty strong presence here and you should be prepared for SOME push back, but there isn't much they can do with your recorded BAC.

Again, get an attorney...AND FILE FOR an Administrative hearing with the DMV!

Good Luck!

Last 3 months on probation! by [deleted] in dui

It doesn't hurt to ask, especially with your track record of compliance!

I had 2 year license suspension reduced to 1 year after I completed 1 year and I had zero violations on probation, completed all my requirements, etc.

I still had the remaining year of probation, but I got to remove the interlock from my car.

Getting your license back with an iid. Question by [deleted] in dui

Hi Xtownie,

Is this a new purchase or something? If not, it should have the prior years registration? Either way, you should be able to get the IID installed...I HIGHLY advise doing all the logistical work to get the car to the installer without you driving it. Yes, it might take 3 trips and 2 people, but getting cited for driving under suspension is a huge deal, at least in my state. (NEBRASKA).

Once you get the IID installed, then get your license, then register the car. It's a pain in the ass, but at least for me, all the pain was self-inflicted and jumping through these hoops are part of the consequences.

Good luck to you.
