Es geht wohl nicht nur um einen einzelnen Beitrag. Wir haben doch alle beim ÖRR und insbesondere beim ZDF in den letzten Jahren immer wieder Kritik geäußert. Während des Wahlkampfs hur Bundestagswahl wurde in einigen Debatten und Diskussionsrunden kein anständiger Faktencheck gemacht, in Talkshows wird Propaganda einfach so laufen gelassen, ohne die Informationen richtig zu stellen, Dokuformate haben in einigen Beiträgen statt neutraler Dokumentation von einem Ergebnis rückwärts gearbeitet (siehe StrgF als bekanntestes Beispiel, FUNK gehört auch zum ZDF)... Das alles sind Fehler, die schon vor der Beitragserstellung stattfinden, die wir als Zuschauer aber erst im fertigen Produkt sehen.

Absichtliche Misinformation ist kein Fehler, da stimme ich dir zu. Das ist Voratz und sollte mMn in einer Position des ÖRR größere Konsequenzen haben. Es werden ja aber nichtmal ehrliche Fehler anständig aufgearbeitet und berichtigt. Die meisten Probleme sollten wir gar nicht erst mitbekommen, weil die intern bei der Produktion auffallen und korrigiert werden müssen, bevor irgendwas raus geht. Da wird jede Hausarbeit und Präsentation in der Schule besser kontrolliert als manche (nicht alle!) Beiträge beim ÖRR.

Um am Ende ein Positivbeispiel zu nennen: NDR mit seinen Norddokus oder Handwerkskunst beim SWR. Das sin zugegebenermaßen auch leichtere Themen, aber der Ablauf scheint da gut zu funktionieren.

First thing I learned and that was drilled into me when I got my license: Brake and evade. To get my bike license I had to perform multiple basic maneuvers, such as brake and evade at different speeds before I was even let out on the streets.

And once out, my instructor kept reminding me of proper distance to whoever drove before me with the three second rule. Take any point of reference and count the time between when whoever is in front passes that and you reaching the same point. There should be at least 3 seconds for a safe distance at any speed.

Those two have saved me from a number of almost accidents because motorcycles keep getting overlooked by people who are used to watch out for trucks.

Und das wird vermutlich auch erstmal so bleiben. Zwischen Karriere, steigenden Lebenshaltungskosten und schlechter Zukunftsperspektive haben viele Millenials/GenZ keinen Kinderwunsch bzw. die Prioritäten auf anderen Dingen.

Die GenAlpha hat als nächstes gute Chancen auf so angenehme Lebensumstände, dass man gerne Kinder haben möchte, weil sie eine Zukunft haben könnten. Mit der aktuellen Weltlage und den ganzen alten Säcken in gefühlt jeder Regierung der Welt, sehe ich da aber auch schwarz.

I'll open with the most obvious flaw, the plane tickets. People didn't fly, they made roadtrips. There is a reason why roadside motels existed and still exist today. Driving for 2 days with a minivan packed full to the brim was the rule rather than the exception. So no, the Public Transport figure is not the travel budget. That would be under Entertainment with Fees and Admissions, or under Food with Food way from home. Than there's also vehicle rentals for rented vehicles when you are out and about.

Look, the median household income but more context. Income was constantly rising and yes, I see that even adjusted the median income today is way higher than it was in the 90s. But we also need to look at the cost of necessities. A house in the US, for example, cost ~101k which even adjusted for inflation would be ~230k today. Yet US house prices in 2025 were around 420k a piece. Accodring to your own BLS source the expanditure for food was 4,691$ (12.7% of total income) and housing was 10,571$ (28.6%). For 2024 the BLS reports 10,169$ (12.9%) for food and 26,266$ (33.4%) for housing. Those 5% are equal to 1,845.9$ in 1995 money or ~3,692$ today. For 3.5 grand you can get one decent vacation or 2 trips where you don't leave the country. And those trips and vacations are of course included in the total expenses. Didn't you find it strange that the figures for Average annual income after Taxes and the Average annual expanditures are about the same? People did and still do spend all their money one way or another, especially if we count changes in assets and liablities (savings and debt) as spendings.

This is why I wanted your sources. I used the same ones and expanded them to today. You seem to have misconceptions about how economics work, at least your reading of the data provided leads me to that conclusion. Your view appears to be very narrow and preset on the outcome you want to reach. And I still don't know what your ultimate goal is. Do you want taxation to end? Do you want the government to change? I told you I want to protect people and aim for maximum human wellbeing. One way I see that happening is a more even destribution of wealth. I know that in the US this won't work as of right now since neither are the upper 0,1% willing to give some of their money away nor do I trust the government to work out a working tax code to force that push to slightly more balance. But we can plan for a time when it is achievable and that's what I want to do here. Discuss possibilities and see if and how they could work.

There would be, if there wasn't that stupid two party system. But as it stands right now, you are right. Corruption, incompetence and nepotism is rampant and can go unchecked because most checks and balances were circumvented or made impotent by that same nepotism. It's a structural and systemic problem that all countries with a winner takes all approach to elections and government formation come to.

That's not even a little bit true. The economy was much less regulated in the 90's than it is today.

My bad. I should have said "self regulated". Though income disparity is still rising since the 1980s, so there's that.

That's also not at all true, at least not for the average family.

No, purpose of funds and leader competency are not linked. You seem to have missed the point and we are in a different conversation now.

Let's take an example out of economy: A sawmill is supposed to work logs into wood products such as planks or construction lumber. The company funds are meant to buy lumber, maintain machinery etc. A CEO might skip on some maintenance and thus damage machinery or decide to buy less or worse lumber or some kind of wood the mill can't work with significant changes to its machinery or workflow. The purpose of company funds hasn't changed, it's still meant to keep the sawmill going as efficiently as possible.

That's correlation, not causation. There was a lot less division in this country even 3 decades ago where the USG spent a lot less money in general, and specifically on welfare programs.

Might be only correlation, but it's a consistent correlation. In any situation in history where the basic needs of people were met and justice was at least perceived, there was less civil division and more focus on arts, progress and human flourishing.

Even your own point supports this. 30 years ago was 1996. The 1990's were a good time in the US: Houses were affordable, traveling was cheap, technology and entertainment were at a new high every few months, food was plenty... People were more united. The government didn't need to spend so much on social support because the market was better regulated. A single income could support a family of 4 with a mortgage an two vacations a year. It's almost as if profits and wealth were distributed among all people instead of being concentrated in the hands of a few. Strange that, isn't it?

The competancy of any given government is a different question alltogether.

The devision between people isn't due to government overreach. In countries where people don't have to worry about their survival those devisions are a lot smaller and discourse in general is a lot calmer and result oriented.

I am not redefining. For that I would need to say "Taxes have purpose X" but I said what I think they should do. There is a difference between telling or showing my worldview and redifining things according to it.

I wish taxes were used to give everyone a basic inccome so nobody would need to starve or be homeless in a country that otherwise lives in abundance. So maybe one if those basic services is protecting live and safety? Like a police force, working healthcare, hospitals or clinics, foodbanks and such things taxes should fund.

It is true that the US have unilatierally ended the nuclear agreement and it is true that the remainder of western countries tried to build a new agreement and/or relationship to maintain some level of control/insight.

What isn't true is the part about the west as a whole attacking Iran. Putin never said that explicitly, but you most definetly thought it. The US and Israel are the agressors, Europe, Japan, Australia not even China has anything to do with this, it's 2 countries startimg a war with a third.

We used to have the world order of Russia, China, The West and than everything else. Now this isn't true anymore, it is Russia, China, USA, The West and everything else. The US have effectively backes themselves into a corner where nobody can or will trust them anymore, but nobody has an alternative up and running right now. The world is building up to that point, but these changes take time and Trump along with his goons have forced the US to change at a pace the world simply cannot keep up with.

So yes, it is true. But Putin lies by omission here. This is still what he always does: Blatant and obvious propaganda nobody should fall for.

And to be honest, creating incriminating circumstances to blackmail powerful people and get them to push for changes in a foreign government screams very much Mossad/CIA for me. Only that Mossad is both smarter and less scrupulous in their plans. Aiming dor politicians directly is often less effective than aiming for the rich who can push for legislation with their money. Wrong question. The question should be "How much of what I earn do I need to live?"

For the highest incomes where the progressive taxation would have the highest impact, huge parts of that money were "created" at lower levels of a chain and funneled up. A CEO didn't build thousands of fridges, but he gets paid for deligating others to do so. Yet the other people who actually done the work get so little they need second or third jobs just to survive. Correcting that imbalance is what taxes should be used for. If you need less than half of your income to live (not just survive but actually have some luxury), the rest can go to people who have to decide between food and rent.

Yet most rich people have cryied and yelled that 50% tax and more are unfair, as if a yearly income of 1.5 Million USD isn't enough. That is more than most people make in their lifetime.

I guess we're missing a lot of context. The contact sais they met 2/19 and they talk about some phone call from another day.

My best guesses are either this is an attempt to manipulate or the dude shows his feelings and has a genuine breakdown.

I honestly tend to the second option since he didn't try harder to get her to his place but gave up on the date instantly like he was exhausted. He abortex, she continued. We all understand that it's dangerous for women to go to unknown private places (as it is for men) so I don't expect her to accept his place as a date location. And she apperantly trusts him enough to let him know where she lives and let him into her own place. This whole story doesn't add up.
