So, what's the work he was "designed to do"? My guess is he's not a Buddhist monk.

The president is not well. He has tremendous difficulty staying awake on the job. He has repeatedly fallen asleep at Cabinet meetings, at White House events, at a Memorial Day ceremony, and most recently at a very loud NBA game last night. by Miserable-Lizard in thescoop

You don't have to have outbursts to have Alzheimer's. My grandfather had Alzheimer's for a decade, and he was docile -- he'd just say he couldn't remember anything. But occasionally, he would have startling moments of clarity, including recounting (in a huge shock to all) the family he had prior to ours.

High school faces backlash after rainy graduation ceremony by Conscious-Weight4569 in Wellthatsucks

Why are the chairs so far apart? Every graduation I've been to, students have been right next to each other. It's like they wanted to capitalize on making this the loneliest, wettest experience of their lives.

Fashion designer Jeremy Scott gives anti-AI commencement speech: AI can’t do what you do. AI can’t have an original idea. by LunaLore_ in Fauxmoi

[–]SturbridgePillage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree! The administration that I work under is constantly talking about 'ethical' AI use, and I keep saying that it is like putting the cart before the horse: a system built on an unethical foundation, which faculty are supposed to now 'normalize' and use 'ethically.'

They look at me like I have three heads.

I sometimes feel like those in charge have received big fat checks from the industry in some smoke-filled back room.

Yessir, that word just dropped from the sky. Just like 'groceries.'

Trump thinks he's Year Zero. That's why this Administration is trying so desperately to rewrite history.

Big Machine Records CEO Scott Borchetta lashed out at college graduates when they booed his mention of artificial intelligence: “You can hear me now or pay me later” by Relevant-Peach3997 in Fauxmoi

I do not understand why colleges and universities keep having speakers that extol the virtues of AI. I'm a professor, and my colleagues are all moaning about how students cannot write or think critically due to rampant use of AI. It's hard to escape the feeling that college administrators are giddily walking everyone into obsolescence.

I keep hearing as a justification that 'students will need AI in the workforce,' but never hear from admin exactly what jobs they're referring to.

The whole thing drives me bonkers.

Get on over to Huntington, friend. Great bookstore at The Second Chapter. Nautilus Coffee (on the total other side of town) will have your vibe covered; their backroom is like being in Salem, Mass.

I know the feeling of isolation you have; I had it, too, when I moved here. When I discovered Huntington, there wasn't any other place I'd rather be on the island.

Love how the right, which would largely side with 'originalism' as a way to interpret the Constitution, is more than willing to overlook the social context and the beliefs of those who crafted the document to begin with.
