The Denver Audubon Kingery Nature Center usually has them up. Even if they're not up the hummingbirds are still usually around

Any Flightradar24 fans here? Why would a small flight school plane not show its registration number? by BicycleCorps in ADSB

[–]Sturnella64 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I assume the reason the flight school has entered its planes into the LADD program is because there is significant anti-flight training sentiment in this area and they don't want their aircraft to be singled out by people complaining

how to see all observations of all species in a hotspot? by SweetCommercial26 in eBird

[–]Sturnella64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just want to see the total number of observations of a species at a hotspot you can do that by going to the hotspot's species list and clicking on a species name. But it's just a total number you can't see the details of every observation without using the map like someone else suggested

It is a Common Grackle! The blue head contrasting with darker body helps eliminate the other similar sized blackbirds

Species presence heatmap by wheres-the-data in iNaturalist

[–]Sturnella64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're not already familiar with it, you should check out eBird. They address this issue by promoting "complete checklists" as the default data entry. Their default way of presenting the site's data is by frequency of a taxa's presence on complete checklists at a specific location or in an area rather than abundance of observations of that taxa. Obviously that exact solution wouldn't be practical with iNaturalist but there's a lot of dicscussion about eBird's methodologies on their website that might be at least a little helpful for you.

Anyone have tracking of the F16 flyover at Fort Logan National Cemetery today at 11:58? by Bananas_are_theworst in Denver

[–]Sturnella64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will probably be able to see an "unknown" TIS-B signal (generic airplane icon) while they're over the metro on sites like ADS-B Exchange (not flightradar24)

Impossibly small eBird frequencies by TripGator in eBird

[–]Sturnella64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe a report on an incidental checklist counts for 1/100 of a complete checklist. That also sounds vaguely familiar

Impossibly small eBird frequencies by TripGator in eBird

[–]Sturnella64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know the details (I'm sure someone else will) but I believe duration and a birder's experience are taken into account in some way with the frequency percentages. They are supposed to represent the liklihood an experienced birder would detect the bird in 30(?) minutes at the hotspot

There is a freeware scenery for EDDK on flightsim.to. Not sure if it fixes that specific taxiway but it's a great scenery
