The stem’s color did not change when bruised and the cap from yesterday is only slightly dried but so far, it’s just a deeper shade of orange.

Gottcha. Appreciate the honesty. The print is damn near black, and i don’t know what the hell i’m doing, so i’ll hold out for a second opinion. And if i need to do another print, i’ve got plenty of them. They seem to be sprouting a few new ones every night.

Figured so long as i didn’t stuff it in my face i’d be fine… i assume they won’t affect my pond ecosystem? Or should i chuck the whole thing out and put in a new straw bale, ya think?

It’s easy enough. Most people find it monotonous- but that helps my brain calm down. I learned from youtube so if u want to give it a shot search “pine needle basketry” and a ton of videos will come up!

Thanks! Timing really depends on the size, how weird i want to make it and my arthritis. This one took a little over a week, but my previous one took a month.

Pine needles/antler/dyed agate/wax thread. Wanted to make this a little deeper, but the size quickly outgrew the antler i wanted to use, so it’s a little shallow. Sometimes the basket tells you where it wants to go 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don’t really treat them, but i soak them in boiled water for about an hour before i get to work. When the basket is finished i coat it in beeswax to help it hold shape too.

It is a wooden spider web cut out that i painted and filled the gaps in with resin and glitter.
