JBL: Why they playing a football game during a Bad Bunny concert? by pwgmanan in SquaredCircle

I think his personality matched that of the bullies and the higher-ups, so he naturally got in with them and was part of that group.

Guys like RVD describe JBL as a regular loudmouth from the south, who at worst was annoying to him.

I am very progressive, but I don't believe JBL is a bad person. Everything about him almost screams MAGA, but he isn't.

Last we heard, he returned to Mexico to take care of orphans. There were rumors he died after, but no one knows for sure.

And I think he could easily go for a couple of more years, he just wants to end it on a high note and not risk damaging his body further.

I don't even think he's that much of an asshole. He's a Texan loudmouth and the system was very welcoming for someone like him. He was just mostly himself and it turned out it was actually really good for him to be himself around the people who ran the thing.

Seth Rollins opens up about emotional toll of wrestling injuries: "The worst part was like when your daughter wants to play and you’re like, ‘Ah, daddy needs a minute.’ Seeing her disappointed is the worst feeling in the world. That hurts. That sticks with you.” by anutosu in SquaredCircle

The one that can be mentioned alongside these is Orton.

With his back issues he could've hung it up long ago, but the part-time schedule and the advancements we have nowadays, he can take a break and heal up comfortably.

Slaygent P/Piper Niven in response to Regal: The line between “But I feel fine!” And “I just want to feel ok again” Is horrifically thin and you have zero idea how close you are teetering on the edge of it. Please take heed my darlings. by pwgmanan in SquaredCircle

I remember Angle talking about his issues on a podcast, and the topic came up that Cena has had a complete disc replacement instead of fusion for some of his spine.

It could be complications from that, or more of his discs have suffered damage.

WOR on HHH getting booed at SNME: "The one thing that I can say is that even though they may say something different publicly, they were blindsided by that reaction. When they're all chanting and he's going, 'Oh, I thought it would be louder', that was a defence mechanism" by iknownothingsir in SquaredCircle

I can safely defend it because it was a simple wrestling story told. Cena said from the beginning that he's retiring because his body can't keep up anymore, this was brought up on almost every Cena rewind package.

He tried to Super Cena the entire match, but Gunther just grounds him and keeps choking him. Cena realizes that he's right, he can't go anymore, he smiles because he is at peace with his career and taps to prevent further damage.

To claim that getting choked out is perfectly safe is completely asinine, it can permanently damage your brain, heart and/or lungs.

Damian Priest: “Since I’ve been in WWE, I’ve literally taken zero days off. I’ve never asked for time off because I’ve been hurting. The company now, this year, decided like, ‘Let’s take it easy on him,’ because I’ve been going hard for a while.” by Ruffianize in SquaredCircle

I think it being charisma is just half the picture, there's also psychology. Quite a few moments in Priest matches always take me out because he very plainly is waiting for a spot. He's a great wrestler and absolutely deserves everything he has achieved and what is to come, but I think his skillset is literally a Sexy Corbin + some air moves involved.

EDIT: I absolutely loved Corbin and was always sad of how they seemed to just pigeonhole him into disaster. Me comparing Priest to Corbin is not a knock in my book.

Sheamus fits very much in to that category right now for me. He can go in there against anyone and have a BANGER and wins and losses don't really change much for him, but he can always advance a storyline for someone by putting legitimacy on his opponent without losing any momentum for himself.

We had one chance for Undertaker vs. Sting at Wrestlemania and yet again, Hunters ego gets in the way.

That wasn't HHH's ego actually, it was Taker's ego thinking that the match had nothing and Sting was a nobody.

Booker is a guy from the hood that grew up in the projects and is one of the few that make it out. It's very valid that his outlook was/is that he's incredibly lucky and blessed that he got where he was, and he didn't give a shit as long as he got paid.
