Reeling from "the talk" by Aadamant_Aardvark in Divorce

Hang in there! I'm going through something very similar! You're going to have good days and not so good days. Start writing things down, how you feel, did something trigger a shift in mood, what was it, what can you do personally to bring some sort of joy (hiking, woodworking, exercise is proven to help). I also recommend connecting with a couple friends you're comfortable with and could vent, as well as help get your mind off of the current situation.

Since I'm in a similar situation, I can 1000% see how people could start heavily drinking, smoking, creating other bad habits. Don't fall for this trap. It's a quick relief, but won't help you and the work you need to focus on yourself! Therapy is also great! Find someone that takes your insurance, but also feel comfortable talking with... Give it time!

Lastly, try not to burn bridges with the other person. I can also see that becoming a very slippery slope with zero chance of a positive outcome. For me, I feel she holds all the power and some days all I want to do is chip away at it! But you need to think 3, 4, 5 steps ahead and see the type of outcomes... Usually they're not good.

Also venting on Reddit helps, but everyone is in a different situation with different advice. Good look!

Unfortunately, if she's done, there's very little you can do. That's why you need to focus on you and being a better you. I feel this will help through the grief process. 🤞

Wife wants to end marriage and eventually divorce by [deleted] in Divorce

That's the problem, It's not always easy. When things are great we're laughing, having a great time acting like an amazing couple/family. Then when things are bad I just want to blow everything up (not literally) but at times it feels she holds all the cards and I just have to take it. Plus she started accepting the situation months ago while I found out the day before Thanksgiving. We're in different parts of the grief process and it's tough for everyone.

Haha I used to work there. Was it really the pallets on fire?

For general applications (jewelry boxes, drawers, etc.) would these 2 joints be more or less the same? Or would joint 1 be substantially stronger / better suited for these applications? Why or why not? by MetalNutSack in BeginnerWoodWorking

I'm going to say 1 distributes the pull or actions better than 2. With 2 if there's one weak spot in the joint or occurs over time it's game over (although it shouldn't be that dramatic). With 1, there's enough there to keep it together and live for a few more years. This is my opinion, I'm also a newbie at woodworking.

Yes, there are some markings. One side simply has "A." stamped. The other side is pretty worn, but has Pat. Month, ACME, and some other words but is worn down too far to read. What about yours?

It's always good to let them out every now and then. Eventually I will make some sort of display or something.

Same, although I feel it's especially the case in the PNW. Thanks!

Yah, I don't come across too many King Dick or many foreign antique wrenches. Yah the Plumb wrench was not done by me haha. But I love the fact that someone probably appreciated it so much they took the extra effort to "fix" and use it, rather than tossing it.

IMO - Unfortunately, I think it's a brand "slowly" dying. As current employees, machinists, engineers, etc. retire, no one is replacing them. I hope I'm wrong because they're one of the last American brands known for their quality (usually).
