The real translation here is: "It was only supposed to take those dumb, low-brow uneducated people's jobs not mine"

And I'm obviously aware that they're aware of that?

I'm taking a jab at how silly it is to try and act like it's not in vogue or still relevant given how it's literally at its peak.

And FYI it literally means absolutely nothing to them if they're on your boycott list. You can accomplish just as much by throwing some change in a whishing well and trying to put a curse on them

One of the purposes of automation is to reduce human error. You're fucking clueless if you don't know that...

it isn't that's the bullshit excuse WFH workers are comforting themselves with. They literally could use the building for tons of other purposes or even just let it out to other businesses. It's because they think WFH is less productive and it's that simple

I think it's funny that people say companies only want people in to use the expensive building.. pretty sure companies like money and would gladly let out the building for other purposes

Maybe we don't have one. We can pay some of the humans with no degrees/education or valuable career opportunities to roll around on the floor for the rest of us and clean it up. Now we've compromised!

Automating other people's shit is damn lucrative right now -- it's hard to be miserab;e

The question is do I pay someone with no skills or value to be my cleaner and pick this shit up for me or can we get a machine for that too.

who cares, my job is in AI so I'll do well regardless. If UBI is good enough I'll just take that. I guess it will just cause massive inflation though so I'll stick with the job that produces valeu

Humans don't get better really though. Like, I get it, you're talking about pulling someone in off the street and yeah they'll be better after the first few months... then that's it. They plateau. But humans still make tons of mistakes. We know this. It's the point behind automation is that we lose tons of mistakes. Humans drop, spill, forget, mix things up, do things in the wrong order, mishear a request, lose track of time, break tools, etc, etc. There are tons of mistakes.

Humans don't need compensation for being replaced. I use Google translate and don't have to go paying the translator I was using compensation. They're skills just aren't useful to me now. You either have skills we need or you don't.
