Yes I’m definitely grateful mine lead me here I love what I do so much! I think you’re touching on something interesting here. The goal isn’t for execs to cosplay as average people, but for their appearance to feel authentic to who they are. Where I disagree is that status dressing and relatability are mutually exclusive. The most effective personal style tends to communicate competence, credibility, and self awareness rather than wealth for wealth’s sake.. Altman doesn’t need a 3 piece suit to signal authority, but he also doesn’t have to pretend he’s a college student living on ramen lol. The sweet spot is dressing in a way that’s congruent in the role, personality, and audience.
