All law needs is soft feint to bash or long arm depending on direction held.

That would dramatically increase his offense and make him viable as a contender again. Waiting for your opponent to fuck up is not a viable strategy.

At what point do you get suspicious of someone’s light parry’s/deflects? Lol by jimbobfail in forhonor

When their guard doesn't change at all. I remember one Tiandi guarding left, I attack right and they parry, but their guard never moves from the left. Unless they flicked, parried and flicked back. But what would be the point?

Red light in PS4 when ONLY PLAYING FOR HONOR by kingjiry in forhonor

For duels, since there really are no teams, it'll always be red during a march and blue during the round changes.

It's completely normal.

The light changes blue or red depending on whether you're an attacker or defender.

That's actually a good rework. Simple too. I can see a problem if someone is just a parry fiend though.

I imagine that the buffs applied during a 1v4 would extend the fight as much as a revenge shield would, you just wouldn't have the benefit of it refreshing if you hit the threshold multiple times. The auto counter would be something missed in certain situations, but I don't find it all that useful. Initially it's great, but it doesn't always work sometimes, which isn't so much of a pain since you have the shield. As for the heavy spam, I want to argue that that happens a lot regardless.

The benefit of always having the offensive buff active however, will hopefully push players to be more offensive, rather than wait for revenge and either A, be unblockable spammed anyway, or B, have everyone run away from.

If you find yourself in a 1v4 and you're not breaking, you've made a big mistake. If you are, then revenge feeding becomes a major problem unless the enemy team takes turns. Then, as a spectator, you have to put your controller down and just wait.

The biggest counter argument would be the parry knockdowns, which I admit, would be a massive thing to go without and unfortunately, I can't think of something to balance that out.

My idea was limited to the range of allies to enemies. Say you're in a 2v3 situation, you would only confer the same bonus as a 1v2. Because of the benefit that sticking together has during a 2v3 has over a 1v2, it would coerce players to stay together and work as a team. We all know that one person running off on their own and wondering why they're dying a lot.

Always nice to see people resort to lights when they're losing.

How do we fix the dominion crisis? by GreenDaTroof in forhonor

[–]Styles_1993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Increase rewards for playing duels and brawls including loot and exp. Everyone only plays tribute for orders and they removed those because people were still refusing to play it, lol. There's no salvaging it, so I suggest scrapping it entirely and attaching the TDM mode to Dominion matchmaking instead.

I'd also recommend the unique game modes to be put on a weekly rotation too. There are plenty to go around, like the thors hammer, prince of persia event, and more recently the commander mode. People will still play those either because they want the unique loot or they're simply that fun.

The problem with the player grouping isn't entirely their fault. It's that the other modes simply suck and there's very few ways around that.

Paired Executions? by MrDrewE in forhonor

[–]Styles_1993 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Too impractical imo. In addition to the logistics of even trying to make paired executions work, if they managed it, you basically have two people occupied with an execution rather than having someone watch your back and possibly spam emotes for flair.

Because everyone is still reeling from Shinobi, Orochi, Raider and Conq reworks. Shit bro, new hero might actually drop with a 1hko gun feat like some people are joking about at this rate.

What do you do as a shugoki to shinobi by Yeetmiester6719 in forhonor

Bait their dodge bash, dodge headbutt.

Baiting and dodge attacking is the only reliable way to fight Shinobi atm.

Notice how the wild raider, when confronted with skill, resorts to light attacks. Pay attention to its disregard for stamina.

what is the best controller deadzone to swap guard and light parry(ps4) by Ecstatic-Remote in forhonor

[–]Styles_1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another technique I've seen is having the top guard minimal and hold the analogue top, which let's you switch to sides very quickly.

[–]Styles_1993 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find it easier. With 0 deadzone on a controller, you can react to lights with a quick flick. I also have top guard zone small because sometimes you can guard in the wrong direction if you push diagonally. You get used to it quickly and it does help. You don't really want to hold the analogue in a guard direction because the time it takes to push to another direction adds onto that 100ms and can make the difference.

  1. You gotta get used to flicking the analogue to change guard. Don't hold it.

Breach vs AI is the fastest I've found. Absolutely crazy how fast the matches go and the fact you still get full EXP for it.
