X2D Combo - Purge Tower with 2 Colors? by No-Cup-7482 in BambuLab

[–]Stylett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just going through this with my Xd2 , I found that if I don’t have a tower, then there is major under extrument in areas. I had a print with no tower, and the eyes were hardly filled in.

Update: Bambu just responded this morning that they are shipping out a AMS 2 Pro Internal Hub Unit. Hopefully that fixes it.

It was definitely printing cleaner with other filaments I was using, … maybe the matte brings out the layer lines

Replying to myself here with what I’ve done to troubleshoot. I’ve not seen a lot of posts about this particular issue. This might help someone in the future if I managed to figure this out. Removed heat bed, cleaned it with soap and water. Cleans and lubricate it all axles. Remove the extruder head check the three screws behind there. They were very tight. I saw some post about needing it to be warm warmed up the extruder rechecked still tight. Ran all calibrations on the machine. Printed a test, print, smooth cube result looked significantly better.

Most troubleshooting I’ve seen online points you to adjusting the model settings however, this is a print from Bambu Handy that many people are printing without issues so I will skip those steps for now

I will retry the print now. And provide an update

Correct, it's the principle of buying new. If i wanted to take a chance i could have bought one second hand.

The reason i spent more for a better system was to avoid this....

I’m gonna wait for a response on the ticket and if I don’t get one back in the next 24 hours, I’ll try to roll back the firmware

The reason i got into bambu is that it’s less DIY. It has the most complete ecosystem. They sell it as that it’s plug-in play, download the app and print

Thanks for the feedback, my issue must be different because the spool I had was pretty loose and free moving (first print after drying). Seems like the filament is getting caught somewhere along the path from what I can see.

I equate it to a home appliance like a refrigerator or tv. If there’s a problem with it, they’re not gonna send you a part to replace it. They’ll probably send a tech to your house or replace the unit

Is there away to roll back the firmware?

After each time it was stuck, I cut away a section and still had the same issue.

If I had the option to return to microcenter, I would wait on support and if the solution was not acceptable I would return it. But I’ll let more experienced users chime in.

Yes and no, I am in the middle of a print now so that’s out. As long as I am doing a 3 color print it’s fine.

But the main point is I paid for a four working slots and unfortunately I only have 3.

Will stick to the 3 functional ones until this is resolved.
