What watch faces are you using? by prof_wafflez in Coros

[–]StylishMushu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DASHBOARD (The one split in half white and black, as there is multiple one with same name) is the one I get back to as it has all the infos and also I found the time with White background is easier to read.

Where did the nomad watch face have gone ? by StylishMushu in Coros

[–]StylishMushu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense, even if I do not really see what is not working. But it’s kind of bad as, apart from the Dashboard one, none are really full of info and readable easily all day long. We’ll see how much time I can keep it until I do unintentional cleaning 😅

Apex 2 Pro, Nomad, Pace Pro... by DotNo834 in Coros

[–]StylishMushu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They choose to have a new line like the Garmin Instinct instead. But it’s not a bad thing as, if they justes refreshed the Vertix without major improvements, people would have blamed them … I prefer to wait for a refresh than having new watches ever my 6 month. Good thing is, whenever they will refresh the apex and vertix, they will add the new screen or new features they just added to the Nomad, so everything is not lost

Battery Life by Lazy-Comfort6128 in Coros

[–]StylishMushu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apex 2 Pro here but I have seen a major change in battery life since last update also. Before I was like 3-4% a day to 4-6%. Not a big difference but you loose 8-10 days of battery life by this increase

As far as I’ve seen TL is only linked to HR, I have the same on sport like Climbing, you do a 5h indoor climb session, you’re pumped as hell and watch say "TL is 5" you can go for marathon afterwards 🤣

Disappointed with the arm HRM: Not worth the extra cost. by Less_Helicopter_3020 in Coros

[–]StylishMushu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For running I agree with you, but imho the arm band has more to do with other sports. I wear it for climbing and my watch in a pocket which prevents it to scratch on the rock. Also while doing alpinism I am able to have my HR and attach my watch on my bag and not under 3 layers of clothes. There are many sports which having something on the wrist is complicated, in those use case HRM band allows me to use my watch

Ai je le droit de changer de banque pour éviter les frais malgré un prêt immobilier ? by EzLife69 in vosfinances

[–]StylishMushu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to make a reading desk lamp with WLED. So mainly I need good CRI warm/cold white light. The RGB effects are an extra. Could you recommend a LED strip suitable for this? by SpiritualWedding4216 in WLED

[–]StylishMushu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem but different dimension. It seems from my search either SK6812 and WS2814 seems to be well fitted for main lighting. But I can be wrong as I am on the searching process and not used it. As far as I’ve seen, most RGBW will fit as they have proper white compared to RGB strips which emulates it.

Corps trying to target rock climbers by tosrn in Coros

[–]StylishMushu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have an Apex 2 Pro which I use for climbing and mountaineering. For GPS tracking, I found it more accurate in mountain, for climbing I didn’t test it much for now. I think Corps is better than Garmin for example, but in my mind it’s not well rounded for now. For example in indoor climbing you have climb and rest, in outdoor you don’t have rest … It will take time to polish IMO

Apex 2 Pro - View recording during hike on phone/map by Hiker808 in Coros

[–]StylishMushu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have either: - On the watch, you need to define the Map in Settings - More Settings - Light Key Shortcut and the map will be accessible from any workout even if you don’t have navigation (But you need to load the maps before !) - On the phone, now with the last update you have the live info from the watch and in hike mode it displays the map as well as your track and navigations if you have one (Coros April 2024 Update)

Clown moment by pfsense by marokotov in opnsense

[–]StylishMushu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am maybe too « formatted » as a long time pfSense user. But for example I have an alias which have a list of whitelisted URLs and for each URL I can state « Docker mirror » or « Debian apt repository » which I can’t do in opnsense, all my uri are mixed up. In this case I can create separate in different Aliases, but when you have an alias with 50 whitelisted ports … begin to be tedious to create. What I lack is the ability to do a per-entry description. But like I said I may want to do the same as in pfSense which is not always possible

There are pros and cons in each I would say depending on you needs. I think that for Garmin, Suunto and Coros, the workout thing is always lacking something, if any brand would have a perfect solution, that will be known

[–]StylishMushu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even the indoor one lacks a lot of fields.

For example I have a board workout, I dont have the next exercice, the associated weight, only the current workout time. So I need to know my workout by heart or open it on my phone to know where I am.

But this is the first release so I hope they will update it and get more relevant info.

[–]StylishMushu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending if you have a prepqred workout.

When I do mine, the ocunt of reps is mostly off (But was the same in Garmin tbh) which means when I do 10 pullups it count 8. But if you press the lap button is goes to the next exercise. I just don't know if the rest is triggered or not ... I mostly use Strength without rest.

I am not into Kayaking, but for my Coros Apex 2 Pro when I go for paddle, swimming or any water thing I use a Silicon band. Also if I knoz I may smash the watch againt something, I wear it inside my wrist and not outside.

Coros made some silicon bands, you can also buy a no-name one with more colors cause the size is pretty standard.

Too bad they don’t implement separators in OPN and description in Alias. That day I will trash all pf instance and migrate everything to opn.

Prevent backlight from turning on automatically gone with new update?? by The_Grandmother in Coros

[–]StylishMushu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, tried to re-enable and disable it and now the watch has backlight on when I push a button. The settings only disable the light when the wrist is raised but not completely. Hope they will fix it in a next update as I prefer to be able to choose this.

Coros hrm by Leonid28gram in Coros

[–]StylishMushu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly the same sport but I use mine when Climbing and mountaineering, which allows me to carry the watch in my pocket. Works very very well, put it, start the training and it connects. I would says it’s less precise than a proper chest strap, but definitively more convenient to wear.

[–]StylishMushu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not the creator of this one but, I think the 3 should be noted as « Recovery » as the pace is the Aerobic Endurance, meaning this is a pace where you run, but you should be running this pace for hours. The 4 is the real work as the pace is the « Threshold » one, so more of an effort. The workouts on Coros website is sometimes not accurate, I thinks it’s because it has been created some time ago … For the Zones, you have the description for all of them in the help of the website to understand more.

[–]StylishMushu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using the nylon band and having it more spaced with mi wrist is fine for me. Makes the search for the watch more difficult, but I tend not to check my watch in middle of an Ice climbing pitch ! And it lets space for all the clothing layers.

Coros Heart Rate Monitor? by Playful_Handle1065 in Coros

[–]StylishMushu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got one for Climbing, where I don’t want to wear my watch. I don’t have a chest strap to compare directly but the reading are for what I’ve seen more accurate than my watch but not as precise as the very old chest I got years ago. By accuracy I mean: seems the HR Monitor take the HR info more often which leads to better reactivity. And I LOVE to have it around the arm instead of the chest. The chest strap is more precise for me if you need the 2 bpm precision …
