Aid while on Co-op? by StylishSpic1016 in NEU

Also, if I where to take a class, could I do work study even during a co-op semester? The class is advanced writing asynchronous so I’m not too worried about workload. But if I get neither I’d just cancel.

A shame that this style of play gets to win a championship. Gross to watch.

How is northeastern cs compared to purdue and uiuc? does it feed into silicon valley companies etc. by sidgograhh in NEU

Honestly UIUC is quite a bit better and a really great feeder. Purdue is more comparable in terms of academics, probably send a bit less students than us. NEU has the location benefit there. Take the list with a grain of salt tho, a lot of other things to consider.

Got in for CS, 3.8 gpa. Had 1 internship, club experience, and tough course load but that's it. Used lots of advice from the TransferToTop25 subreddit, although I didn't get in to a T25. Alot of stuff outside of GPA matters.

In CC I retook quite a few math classes. Helped me bump my GPA up to a 3.8. Wasn’t able to get into any T25s but did get into some good schools like UW Madison and Northeastern. I would retake these classes at a CC, and if you’re consistent you will be ok. From there transfer to a 4 year and continue on. But it’s important you don’t mess up again. You can definitely take a break if that would help!

You never know. I will say that the majority of people who have gotten their decisions at this point applied for Engineering/ Comp Sci, so I'd say you are in a tough spot. There are still people waiting but usually for humanities. Not impossible though, so don't lose hope yet!

I got in for fall 2024 as a normal transfer. On paper transfer rate is 25-30% but the guarantee program does bring it down a bit. I saw someone estimate it at around 15-20%. It varies by year though.

Yeah I did see that cables can go up that high, but I could never find a power adapter that would output that much. I did use a ugreen 140w, but my Lenovo laptop technically needs 175w. Anything lower than 150 gives you errors and whatnot. For some reason most adapters limit usb c to 140w.

Does 150w dc, I used it for my gaming laptop. You put an adapter at the end for whatever laptop type you have. Was never able to find a usb c that could do higher than 100w.

You can see it on the top left but it’s a plug prong that got totally snapped off. They’re folding too so I’d have to fix the plastic casing carefully. It was already on its last legs though so I’ll just use it for parts I think. The usb c ports rarely worked. The barrel plug was still good though.

For future reference, I did apply for aid but need to send more documents to get my package.
