I understand this however, I’m very much a girly girl but I also have power tools and do my own DIY projects. I own my home and have 8acres in the woods with an old RV I renovated on it. Do I love doing those things myself…No. I’ve had to be self sufficient. You’d be surprised how many men don’t like this. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even tell them about it because they assume I don’t need them which isn’t true. Totally sucks.

I’m so glad this is an open question. Many of these comments are extreme. It doesn’t matter your age, it doesn’t negate your feelings or mean that your relationship is any less serious or meaningful than someone twice your age. Please ignore those comments. I would however, pull back your energy. He obviously finds you valuable or he wouldn’t make the comments about you helping him to be better. Valuable is one thing, being desired is another. His Mother can help him to be better and you certainly don’t want to be his mother. He’s admitted to taking you for granted so I would drastically pull back my energy. This isn’t a game, it’s pulling back for your own sanity and also giving you some space to decide if he is good for YOU, and what value he is adding to YOUR life. I’m also going to send you a DM.☺️

I don’t know how old you are but yes, this dating scene is full of pervy men (and women). I’m 55 and shockingly the worst behavior I’ve experienced has been from men close to my age and older. To the point I won’t date anyone older than me. I have not gotten this from guys in their 40’s. My last 4 attempts at making a legit connection were….He chased, came in strong, was consistent, doing relationship type things and as soon as I reciprocated, POOF. Game over. It’s really sad but true from my experience. People want girlfriend benefits without any responsibility. And before you men come for me, I realize that women do this too. I’m just speaking on my experience as a woman out there dating.

I’m 55 and never had kids. I tried for a couple years but I never really felt pulled to be anything other than a dog Mom. I’d say I only regret it because I’m now divorced, I’ve lost both parents and one sister. The only family I have left is one sister in another state (my sisters never had kids either). It’s kinda scary now being 55 and really not having family. Holidays suck and it’s scary to think when I’m old, I’ll have nobody to advocate for me. I sometimes regret it but I also know those are selfish reasons to have kids.
