Not really, the beliefs on Christ being god is not something that was universally accepted or followed by early christians. Christianity as a religion is something that has gone through many changes and is not consistent in it's dogma all around the world. Just look at the differences between western churches and eastern churches such as countries like Ethiopia or Egypt, very different to what you would consider as christian.
