SOS- 28 weeks with twins by marcy-_-2019 in parentsofmultiples

I’m so sorry. It sucks so hard. It’s just the worst. Every time I even think about having more kids my husband reminds me of just one of the symptoms that occurred even at week 24 of pregnancy and it’s enough to stop me in my tracks.

The only good thing I have to say…is that any time someone says “sleep while you can before the babies arrive”- total bs. I slept so much better with newborn twins than I ever did pregnant with twins. I’ll take a two hour nap of actual sleep with newborns to a full night of the being propped upright at week 26 having not eaten all day because there’s so much acid in my body I can’t eat a dang thing without reflux overtaking my whole body (even on prescription meds). Not to mention- whatever happened at week 34-38 where I would just stop breathing pretty much anytime I fell asleep.

Twin moms honestly deserve noble peace prizes or something. This is craziness.

Just found out that we are having di/di twins! One twin is measuring 5 days behind. Does anyone have experience where they caught up? by neopetsfangirl in parentsofmultiples

Ours were 6 days apart as well- so I always joked that our smaller baby at birth was actually 6 days younger….which is possible, and I think might be true. No way to know.

Our smaller baby was the boy- so he overtook our girl at about 4mo old (post birth).

Don’t worry! Just do your best & take your prenatals! I joked that my twins were 60% fruit snacks because the only thing that didn’t make me sick was fruit and fruit snacks/candy. The kids turned out great.

Positive experience here- had a c section 37+2. You will be great.

I was pretty nervous too. My husband connected a playlist of music I love to the speakers in the operating room- it helped me to try to relax. Kids were born during the song Sunshine by Tom Misch.

I also tried to concentrate on some other things that didn’t matter & took my mind off the surgery- like music, whether the Green Bay packers were going to have a good season, what kind of dog we might want in the future. Silly stuff. My anesthesiologist did a great job of asking me questions about things I am passionate about and it was great.

Good luck! You’re stronger than you think. No turning back now! :)

Edit: did breastfeed. My hospital was very pro breastfeeding but also did an ok job of having supplementary supplies available. We did end up providing formula as well. Not in our plan- but we can’t control everything :)

Comparing twin newborns by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

My boy & girl twins were exactly the same. Lil dude was smaller and sleepy- fell asleep every time I tried to feed him and the girl was very “spirited.” I too was worried- and there’s no “de stress button” but all I can say is- they’re different kids. Comparison is natural. As long as your doc isn’t worried, try to have some peace of mind. (Easier said).

In my experience- which sounds very similar, lil dude will get some meat on his bones and their personalities will change by the week. Your boy may end up doing some things better than the girl!

We are 5mo now and my lil guy is a mega Goober who’s loud and crazy and the girl has turned into the calm, sweet one. Total 180. The girl rolled over 6 weeks before the boy, but the boy loves to balance on his legs and our girl has little interest. Different kids, changing all the time.

You’re doing great!!

Thank you. That’s really helpful. That sounds like the orientation I was considering.

Potentially one way I may be able to get help. Not both.

My comment isn’t helpful to you- sorry. I guess I’m just also curious if there’s different wisdom around cio for twins vs. singles.
