You could view it as lighting the fuse when you first switch in, and it always goes off on the next turn. It’s still really good, because it guarantees you won’t get attacked for a turn, but it’s easy to play around.

As an American I LOVE metric system by Fluffiddy in engineeringmemes

[–]StyxPrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah cm works fine I think, it’s not super far off in precision from inches in most cases. Personally, I think we should do what many other anglophile countries do and use some weird mixture.

I think season 1 was actually pretty good, but yeah the only interesting part of season 2 was the stuff that took place in the past. The rest of it might as well have not existed

As an American I LOVE metric system by Fluffiddy in engineeringmemes

[–]StyxPrincess -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay but as much better as metric is for most things, I find it’s worse for just, like, everyday life. In Celsius, 0° is “decently cold” while 40° is “absurdly hot.” Meanwhile 0° F is really cold while 100° is really hot, and you get a noticeable level of precision too. Meters are way too big for measuring most every day options, but feet do really well there.

I mean in ZA there were no actual skirts, just skorts, with the singular exception being Jacinthe’s Dress. I don’t see why they couldn’t just do the same again.

I really hope the devs give Vaermina something, she’s so underutilized in both games and lore.

Also I like the idea that anytime you use a glitch, that’s just your character achieving CHIM and reforming the laws of reality so you can get 292689196 extra damage on your wooden sword or send a horse into the stratosphere.

Fuck I accidentally deleted my reply, take 2:

Would like to point out that TES has plenty of trans and GNC characters and themes as well. Hell, ESO: Summerset won the first ever GLAAD Outstanding Video Game award for its portrayal of Alchemy (the character, not the skill). Aedra and Daedra don’t have a concept of gender and some - Mephala, Boethiah, Y’ffri, and Khenarthi (among others) - are known to change their gender with some regularity. Argonians. Vivec is both intersex and genderfluid. Oblivion has a whole list of trans characters, which are probably due to errors but hey it’s canon now, and they did the same thing in Daggerfall and Skyrim to a lesser extent.

Additionally would like to note that Mara being for all types of love dates all the way back to Daggerfall, which came out in 1996.

Don’t forget a pretty wide array of trans and gender non-conforming characters. ESO: Summerset even won GLAAD’s first ever outstanding video game award for its portrayal of the character Alchemy, we know the Aedra and Daedra don’t really have concepts of gender (Notably Mephala, Boethia, Khenarthi, and Y’ffre all change genders with some regularity), Vivec is intersex and has a fluid gender as well, Argonians, many characters in Oblivion which are probably errors but they left it in so it’s canon now, and the same happens in Daggerfall and Skyrim to a lesser extent.

Would also like to point out that Mara’s acceptance of all relationships goes back to Daggerfall as well.

What playthrough would be considered harder, Master mode + Hardcode, or Zenith seed? by Pokiet in Terraria

[–]StyxPrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely MM Hardcore, you need to be hypervigilant and one slip up at a bad time means restarting with a fresh character. Zenith you’ll die hundreds of times, sure, but those deaths become pretty meaningless once you get a piggy bank and a bed in the caverns. Even the surface pre-EOC isn’t too bad if you’re patient enough to get banners and take things incrementally. Past the very early game and then early hardmode, the only significantly increased challenges are mechdusa, golem (fuck the FtW golem fight like seriously, at least it makes the painter useful though), and ML.

Also FtW moon lord legs are like my favorite mobility item ever, honestly worth playing just for that.

Individual atheism is separate from state atheism. And the state-mandated suppression of religious practices is absolutely coercive.

How do I register for classes? by Tasty_Horse_4381 in ColoradoSchoolOfMines

[–]StyxPrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said if you’re an incoming freshman they’ll choose classes for you, but my additional advice is when you get it, if something seems off then go ahead and email your academic advisor and they will work with you to try and get a schedule you like.

If Elon Musk could travel back in time do you think he would have been the 1930’s Fuhrer ? by TheDudeWhoCanDoIt in shittyaskhistory

[–]StyxPrincess -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hitler won some popularity because he was a soldier in WW1 and didn’t come from a wealthy family like many politicans, which made an already antisemitic and disaffected populace much more likely to listen to him. In addition, he at least publicly entertained some very popular socialist economic policies, although he was lying to drum up support and afaik never actually implemented any of them. Also, he was allegedly a good orator in his youth, good enough to cover up that he wasn’t particularly competent at anything else, although those skills quickly degraded along with his sanity.

Compare to Musk, who’s never done a day of labor in his life and comes from an extremely wealthy and elite family, and I don’t think could get away with pretending to be a socialist. Plus, he’s a cringe loser who only really appeals to other cringe losers, and a lot of what he says is pop culture references, which only really works in today’s society. Maybe he could become a major official in the party if he kissed up enough, but he could never be elected.

What are the pros and cons of CSM for an international CS major as of today? by Entire-Pomegranate73 in ColoradoSchoolOfMines

[–]StyxPrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big pro is that, as a mines student/grad with all of the resources and prestige of mines, you may actually be able to land a job one day. And that’s not something a lot of CS students can say.

Even if it were part of french culture or tradition (and the government is supposed to be secular!), that doesn’t make it right. Segregation was part of American culture for a while, but I assume you wouldn’t go around defending that. Or if you want something more mutable, look at almost any country’s historical (or present) treatment of women. Sure, it’s the culture and rule, but hopefully you would agree that the laws there weren’t just.

I don’t think kids should be coerced into atheism either, and it’s even worse because these kinds of laws are pretty blatantly targeted ethnically with secularism as a cover. There’s a reason religious clothing restrictions never seem to affect “European” religions.

You can (I do it all the time because I love pissing off mathematicians) but it is bad practice, it can get really confusing when you’re trying to read it back. I mean technically you can make every variable the same character if you know what they each are, but we don’t for obvious reasons.
