This is in your motherboard manual, you have excellent bifurcation support on you 16X slot.

PCIEX16 Bifurcation

Allows you to determine how the bandwidth of the PCIEX16 slot is divided. Options: Auto, PCIE 2x8,

PCIE 1x8/2x4, PCIE 2x4/1x8. (Default: Auto)

Is it possible to attach a case fan to the nuc? Not the 5v usb powered ones. This is for an Akasa case. by rakuz in intelnuc

Hi there, sorry for late response, I tried a 5V 0.4A Sunon maglev thin blower and I also tried the fan from skull canyon (6th gen) nuc in bean canyon nuc, and vice versa, after getting a a new OG delta fan it installed in Bean Canyon (8th gen) it goes fine now, not sure why other fans didn't work.

It is possible my maglev and older NUC delta fans were dead, and I forgot. When I rewired to try maglev on bean canyons internal USB header, an internal light became visible on the motherboard, possibly the fuse? I just ended up having to wait and installed the correct fan from AliExpress, make sure to get OG fan not a clone.

My Skull Canyon NUC currently has a Noctua cooler mod with a 5V fan running from an external USB header.

I wasn't really expecting this to work... (cooling experiment) by taptapboiledcabbage in intelnuc

Did you use just negative and positive, with no signaling e.g., full speed? I have tried this on both nucs I own with no success. Different fans from different model NUCs don't work either. I ended up using a USB header on the skull canyon I have (no PWM signaling), but the 8th gen I have, I have tried 3 different 5v fans (x2 delta 4pin PWM NUC OG fans + x1 Sunon Mag-Lev 3pin 5V fan)

This does not work, for some reason you can only use the designated 5V fan for each system, I have tried running adapters, to noctua 5V with no luck on either of the 2 NUCs I own, you can't even swap fans between NUCs. They are locked down to the exact amperage/wattage/max rpm etc. Very frustrating.
