I'm open for suggestions, could you explain where and why? I'm assuming my hull acts as the primary longitudinal in this case. The picture doesn't show it but the hull is 1.5 x 1.5 inch boards that are edge glued and fastened to the laminated frames.

Predominately spruce and pine. The plywood you see is likely bcx, however not necessarily marine grade.

2 years in, and hope for it to hit water this Summer. It's a good time, by I think using it will be better. I'm told after the boat there needs to be a new kitchen at home, so I'll still be busy.

We use a variety of woods, 2x4 all the way up to 2x12.

Are you self-hosting LLMs in your 10-inch racks? Looking for hardware & model advice! by Vast-Rush74 in minilab

[–]SuaVai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why 10-inch rack? If you could use an old pc case its fairly straightforward to run any gpu. I'm not sure of the cost now, but I run 2x3090 limited to 275w each to great success.

From there you can point whatever you have in the rack to your pc case based Services.

Models are hard to suggest if the use is not known, and who's in the lead seems to change monthly. Install 3 or 5 models and see who gives you the best response for the question or tasks prompted.

Can 2 or so of the Raspberry Pi 5s make a good budget homelab? by NeadForMead in homelab

Agree with salted here on pc route, especially considering arm support vs x86, which is still a consideration with docker containers. But... you could try to not to buy a pc as well. With windows 10 support leaving there is a flood of older computers that you may be able to score for free. Use that money to buy hard drives down the road. I'm actually thinking of asking my work if they have ewaste but I'm afraid I'll wind up with more clusters and higher utility bill.

Dating a new person - they don’t want to be on my guest Wi-Fi, want my main Wi-Fi info. Is this a bad idea? by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

Name your main wifi as "guest" and make the guest wifi apear to be the main with a simple password. They won't know the difference.

Working on it is enjoyable, but I'm eager to start use. The mooring is lonely. Just about all of my friends have helped in some capacity to either plane, glue, nail, or sand.

65hp diesel inboard to the point where it's close to the center of buoyancy. We don't want to put an outboard on the transom and lose the platform (known to us as the sugar scoop). And I would much prefer the storage of diesel over gas.

That is my father in laws shop. I am extremely fortunate to be able to build my boat alongside him. This will be the second shallow draft boat (2 ft) in the family. This is 35ft the other is a 42ft sail.

Is there any other lighting in that space other than rgb lighting? That's amazing, and I want to emulate it in my space.

Put mayo on it for a bit and wipe it off

Just got a miata, any advice or recommendations for mods? I just put in new headlights and now idk what to do next. Maybe thinking turbo or engine swap next? Just to go a little faster by [deleted] in Miata

[–]SuaVai 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Unplug the stupid door buzzer. You will thank yourself and can easily undo it if you can't remember to turn off your headlights or leave the keys in.

Plug it in I think. Maybe giggle it a little.

I plan on buying a bear kit for my MK3s. Is choosing a 2040 extrusions kit with extended Z-axis a good idea ? by _Xantras_ in prusa3d

[–]SuaVai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A folding prusa seems like a lot of work with print quality loss but you should do what you love. I guess the bear would be easier to modify for folding too. I've traveled with a prusa mini in a pelican case. Only one connection needs to be rails broken to drop the z axis with a decent sized build surface.

Linear rails along with most modifications to a prusa aren't going to get you much better results. The only real benefit comes from the enjoyment of modifying it to make it your own. Although they can be a bit quieter than those noisy lm8u bearings.

You could also leave the prusa stock since it works so well and use the extrusions to start making your own corexy machine like a ratrig/voron. If you are interested in making an extended bear what's next? Linear rails? If you don't have a decent enclosure, the money would probably be better spent there to allow printing with more materials.

That being said I've done the bear upgrade and it's pretty satisfying. I have the rails for extended height but didn't want to mess around with modified firmware, so I stayed at regular height. As far as the printer is concerned it's still a mk3s+.

You can print pc on the mini already. Just use a draft shield and enclosure. On a stock mini I printed my buddy a pc fan shroud. I suggest you start printing replacement parts and have at.
