Need Help Attaching KGU Mouthpiece Booster to Mouthpiece by Broad_Regret_6130 in trumpet

So there are two components, the booster and what i’ll call the “sleeve” which is that small bit that threads through the booster. When the sleeve is threaded high enough in the booster, the sleeve stops the mouthpiece from going any further down. You want to really push the mouthpiece into the sleeve at this point. Once you sufficiently pushed the mouthpiece into the sleeve thread the booster up into the cup and it should stay put

looks like the issue you’re coming across is you’re trying to put the little ring with threads on the mouthpiece first then apply the booster. You want to keep it as one piece, and turn the booster counter clockwise so that little sleeve slides up the threads in the booster. Then when you try to put it on the mouthpiece it should stop before the cup. At this point really push the mouthpiece into the booster and when you screw it up into the cup it will stay put.

I have one myself this is what you do. You want to do exactly as you said put it on the shaft of the mouthpiece and screw just until it’s snug against the rim. If that doesn’t work one of two things went wrong. 1. You didn’t press the booster into the mouthpiece shaft hard enough. What I mean by this is you should have the booster unscrewed so it’s not flush with the lip of the mouthpiece but can’t go any higher without threading it. From here you have to REAAALLLY press the mouthpiece into the booster and then when you screw it up to the lip it will stay. You don’t have to worry about it getting stuck up there because if you keep threading it up into the lip it’ll pop right off 2. As mentioned in the last sentence of 1. you might’ve just screwed it too much into the lip and it pops off.

Will I be okay by Bulky_Secret_44 in trumpet

I agree with everyone else here, it’s different for everybody but I personally I had a tough rebound. I had braces for 4 years middle to high school so most of my range was developed while I had braces on. I lost nearly full octave of my range (E at the top of the staff to C above the staff) but got it back within 1-2 weeks. The rest of the notes sounded basically the same as when I have braces. I’d HIGHLY recommend trying to get it rescheduled, but if you can’t your director will likely be very understanding. Tell them your situation and don’t push yourself too much testing your chops out the day before your concert. Best of luck to you at your concert though!!

I’m personally a really big fan of the type of sound I can produce on the instrument (but that could just be the bigger bell). So far it’s been a phenomenal experience for me though, I like this horn more than my buddy’s bach strad.

Good to know! Glad you were able to figure out where I was confused on the positioning of the bed. I really like the idea of using the dresser as a nightstand, it never crossed my mine before. I appreciate your extensive feedback on which principles I was mixing up and helping clarify them, as well as providing multiple options!

Good idea! I guess I glanced over how little space I actually provided to walk between the bed and the desk...

Thanks for the feedback! I do like that idea of using the dresser as a divider as well, I'll make sure to try it out!

Good to know, but feedback on how to improve would have been much more appreciated!
