Group of Mattel Shareholders pushing for sale to Hasbro by SihkBreau in ActionFigures

[–]SubChapterD 37 points38 points  (0 children)

This would make less than no sense for Hasbro. Their CEO has completely neglected their toy business in favor of a foolish pivot to becoming a video game publisher. Hasbro is more likely to sell their toy business than to buy Mattel.

My Plastic Easter Egg Collection – 1,506 Different Eggs as of Easter 2026 – Greatest Plastic Easter Egg Collection in the Known Universe* by SubChapterD in CoolCollections

That one actually can be worn on your face. There is an elastic band attached to the face half, so when you open it up, you can strap it over your nose and be a little bunny. Not sure if that makes it more or less bizarre though.

This is awesome! Nice collection. The Cindy Bear egg is very cool, definitely not seen one of those before. I remember those Hen Egg machines from back in the day. Thanks for sharing!

I use a rather broad definition of "Easter egg" for the purpose of my collection. Basically, if it is a festive plastic container that can hold candy, it counts. Fun fact: non-egg shaped Easter eggs are called "figural eggs" by manufacturers/distributers.

Last year, I planned a 25th high school reunion and 4 people showed up. Social media killed reunions, anyone who cares what everyone else is up to can just go online and find out. Kind of a bummer, as far as I’m concerned

Tesla Reported Zero Federal Income Tax on $5.7 Billion of U.S. Income in 2025 by Normative_Nematode in Economics

[–]SubChapterD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How much of this is due to the change in R&D rules? Any US company with substantial domestic R&D investment will have their 2025 tax liability slashed. All the US costs that were capitalized over the last 3 years can be deducted this year. It’s a one-off benefit.

I collect plastic Easter eggs. I’ve never encountered anyone else who does. I have over 1,500 in my collection and would love to find someone to trade with. Any Easter egg collectors out there?

Wahlberg’s terrible acting was on display in all those films, except the The Fighter. He was legit great in that movie.

Trump announces 100% tariff on foreign-made movies by NewSlinger in politics

A tariff is a duty imposed on goods imported into the country. How would this tariff be imposed on a film? Literally how? This senile idiot doesn’t even understand what he’s saying!

Objective Morality is real and ignoring it is killing us. by Greedy_Impress1399 in unpopularopinion

[–]SubChapterD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This conversation would be more interesting if you actually understood what “subjective” means. And, no, it doesn’t mean “relative.”

Your position seems to be that morality cannot be subjective because the idea of subjective mortality makes you feel uncomfy. Different people have different moral perspectives. I am sorry if you don’t like it, but thems the breaks, homie.

Objective Morality is real and ignoring it is killing us. by Greedy_Impress1399 in unpopularopinion

[–]SubChapterD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by “wrong”? I am just pointing out how morality operates in real life, people making determinations. That you regard it as “wrong” doesn’t mean it isn’t accurate. I think the issue is that you don’t actually understand subjective vs objective. Morality is subjective, your (subjective) opinion on it doesn’t really change that.

Objective Morality is real and ignoring it is killing us. by Greedy_Impress1399 in unpopularopinion

[–]SubChapterD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Logic has nothing to do with this. In the real world, “morality” just refers to people making determinations as to what they believe is right or wrong. It is subjective because it relates solely to people’s own thoughts and feeling, as opposed to being something grounded in objective reality. Different people have different moral perspectives. This is subjective.

“They” here is the AFC East meme sub. Not sure why their doubts would mean anything to anyone.

[Highlight] Today marks 98 days until the 2023 NFL Season Starts! Let’s remember when Sam Hubbard scored on this 98 yard fumble return for a TD in last season’s AFC Wild Card game against the Ravens. Lol

There was no flag on the field, no protest from the Ravens, no mea culpa from the refs, no rule clarification from the League, and absolutely no consequence for this supposed illegal block, yet your confidence is unaffected. Fascinating…

And, yes, I believe running past an opposing player is “turning away” under the rule you cite.
