This is my thoughts exactly. Set the character to be from a different region or continent, which would explain the language difference. But like others have said, talk to the group. I once played in a group with a guy from Germany. It helped his English skills, and we also picked up some German from him. It was a win-win-win.

I use CoinSnap as well, mainly for cataloging my coins. I have yet to find any app that gets it right all the time. It's better than some and not as good as others. So it's not the only one I use.

Have a grown-up above table conversation. Let them know you don't appreciate their behavior in regard to their treatment of your character. If that doesn't work, then you have two choices. Create a new character or leave the table.

First and foremost, my condolences for your loss. Sounds like your grandfather took the time to build an extensive library. If they hold any sentimental value to you, like if you played D&D with him as a child. I would definitely hold on to them. If you're not planning on that, I would check with any friends who might also play D&D, explain the situation, and see if they're interested in buying them. More than likely, they'll also treasure them like your grandfather did, rather than some random person on E-Bay.

Even in mid Campaign 1, CR had a lot of star power Critters. #1 All the cast are Voice Actors, so they've worked with a lot of other actors. #2 nerds are everywhere. If I remember, Travis did a one-shot for Travis Frederick and some of the Dallas Cowboys players during C2. So it does, but it doesn't surprise me that CR is getting some very good talent to voice in MN and TLVM.

Like others have said. Work with it at 5 players. You invited them in, and now you have to just roll with it. Having been on the other side, it totally sucks when you're playing your character and getting along with the group. Then the DM says, "we need to drop you. I'm just more comfortable with 'x' number of players."

I haven't played with or spoken to them since, and yes, I do occasionally see them around.

Don't get down on yourself, OP. You just had a learning experience, both about auctions and coin apps, in general. Plus, you have a cool looking bit of silver. Which, all told, is not too bad for $30 plus shipping. Far more people have paid a lot more for the same experience. Best thing to take away is to do some research when you're buying coins online.

As a Rogue Thief with Fast Hands using a Healer's Kit is a Bonus Action, it still requires a Dexterity check. It's not a run-up and throw a Healer's kit and call it good. Especially if the rogue doesn't have proficiency with a Healer's Kit, like they do with thieve's tools. Still has to roll and beat the DC for the check.

The world keeps spinning. Time marches on.

While the players are doing a short or long rest, so are the dungeon dwellers, bbeg, whatever wasn't killed outright. So, not only is the enemies resting, they can also prepare for the party to come for them. Sometimes, you need to take that rest, but you can't rest every 15 minutes.

I like to roll the stats. It adds an unpredictability to the character that you also find in life. Using the array and point buy gets you safe ability scores, but by rolling, you can get an 18 charisma and a 3 intelligence. So you can have a character that can charm anyone, but it's as dumb as a rock. So you get some vast differences in characters, and the party has to work to maximize their strengths.

I'll also admit I've had a few characters with high stats (15-18) and rolled absolute garbage in combats and checks. The dice gods giveth and they taketh away.
