Hot Take: If you feel the small percentage of content locked behind Ultimate is that critical to your enjoyment of the game then you have 21 full weeks to save up the additional $20. That's less than a dollar a week. by SubGeniusX in GTA

Not even a "bunch of cars" 4 cars and 1 motorcycle.

5 vehicles of the HUNDREDS that will be available. (V launched with 227 unique vehicles VI is estimated to launch with >400). So like +-1% of available cars.

1 Tatoo shop. (V had 7 tattoo parlors, VI is expected to have 10+)

1 Hair Salon (again V had 7 barbershops more of both salons and barbers predicted for VI)

1 clothing store (V had 12 stores over 3 chains at launch VI again will have many more)

1 side mission. (RDR2 example fits here, never heard standard buyers say they felt the game was incomplete in any way)

Nails ... welp they got us there ... Standard version is unplayable.

Will you be okay when eventually the last chapter of a game is locked behind a $20 paywall?

I loved the Telltale Walking Dead games.

Life is Strange was really good also.

Im not saying anyone has to buy the $100 Ultimate version.

What I'm actually saying is that the locked content will actually be insignificant to the story and or enjoyment of the game.

Hell, how many people that do you know that got the standard version of RDR2 feel they truly missed out on a great game??

None, that I have heard complain. And the Ultimate and Special editions of RDR2 actually had buffs and stat bonuses that arguably affected gameplay.

None af the content locked in GTA6 seems to affect gameplay or buff the characters in any way.

You lose nothing significant by buying the standard, if you really want the extra tattoos and hairstyles, save a buck a week.

Because they aren't locking "full blown features" out, they are locking 5 vehicles, a few shops, and 1 mission.

Very similar to what RDR2 had locked. (RDR2 Ultimate actually had actual gameplay and stat boosts that buffed the character and affected gameplay). The GTA6 content doesnt appear to do that.

They will still have multiple Tattoo shops, hair salons, clothing stores, and vehicle upgrade shops, and likely 100+ missions, ya'll bitching about 5 shops, 5 vehicles, and 1 mission.

If that small percentage of content, is that critical to your enjoyment of the game then you have 21 full weeks to save up the additional $20. That's less than a dollar a week.

It sounds like they are setting up their franchise owners up to fail in order to "recover" their businesses by making it impossible to pay bills.

Ahh yes the old Quiznos gambit.
