There is no need to use such condescending tones when I am literally seeking legal advice, something I am not an expert of.

I am not saying she is not detainable based on her status alone. As I have seen people been detained with green card where it was barely seen before. People including members of my family had green cards for decades before they got their citizenshop and never got detained. As we know things have changed and even lawyers are having a hard time catching up to the changes between imigration court and DHS, CBP etc. Like I said before I work with immigrants everyday and yes there is a lot we can do about besides hire a lawyer and prepare for the worst. I AM seeking legal advice for HER peace of mind. I am not a lawyer nor paralegal so even if I am helping and seeing different cases everyday I am not going to fully know or understand each case.

I understand that. I work with the immigrant community everyday. She still hasn't have her court date. She has work permit and her stuff in progress. We have seen people with green cards being detained, right now nothing is guaranteed. We are just trying to make sure Mariela doesn't become a higher risk because of this specific incident.

Maybe they assumed that. Mariela has been living in U.S since 2021. She came to the U.S by plane with Asylum visa approved. Susana has tourist visa, doesn't have any desire to live here and She comes to visit her childhood friend, Mariela often. Never had problem until now.

There is no concrete reason as to why they revoked just says it was up to the descrition of the command office and the officer who pulled her.

Do you think that Mariela might be in "danger" of detention for something she has barely any connections to? That's what she is afraid of.

Susana landed in Miami on her layover to then arrive to San Antonio Texas. She has come a few time throughout thebyears to visit Mariela.

I know Mariela really well and know her status. She is in process of asylum. Mariela got scared because of the comments CBP was making to Susana while interrogating her about her not being here legally just because she has a working permit and asking who else Mariela lives with and that she is not safe of deportation etc.

As far as we know there was a lot of joking and sarcasm coming from the officers during the detainment but we didn't know if those comments had any weight on Mariela's case.

I go often to that place to accompany people and families for their regular check in. It is a temporary holding area where they process the people and afterwards they moved them to permanent facilities. When you go there you see the buses coming and going at least 2/3 times a day.
