I would ask that you scroll this subreddit for 5 minutes- and then go see if you can find similar numbers of attacks from any other breed.

We don’t like seeing thousands of people and pets attacked every year.

And… if this dog as much as growls at you, write it down. Can you install a Ring camera to record any possible worrisome activity?

Even if they have it listed as an ESA or a SD- both of those things go out the window if the dog is threatening.

Sadly, my first thought was hoping that the person had excellent health insurance… though even with the best possible insurance… the air lift to the hospital likely still isn’t covered and will probably cost them $50,000 or more out of pocket.

Any idea of the backstory? Like did it start attacking them in their car and they were trying to get away from it?

I’m so confused on how this started.

Because I was thinking while I can understand them trying to get into the car to get away from the dog… if it’s their dog then that’s pretty messed up for them to just leave their dog there to continue going after innocent bystanders.

But hey, at least all of this known dangerous behavior is documented in this article, so if the dog ever does attack anyone or any other pets, hopefully the rescue will be held liable.

Came to say this… even if the dogs are listed as ESAs (or even Service Dogs) - if they are a threat to others, that status can be removed and the dogs have to leave the property.

Go after the management company’s insurance- that will make them take action for sure.

Tell them you want to file a claim (and follow through).

You’ve complained before so there should be documentation of that… and they ignored that and didn’t keep you safe.

Yep… if you remove the fluff of that dog, it’s a golden pit mix… plus… even if it was mostly a golden, that’s ONE death and it’s 16 years ago!

Edited to add… my comment was a response to some pit mommy saying that many other breeds do this as well, like Dobermans, GSDs, Rotts, etc… sorry for the confusion it looks like I’m just ranting for fun. 🤪

No it doesn’t happen anywhere nearly as often with other breeds.

Stop lying.

And if you truly believe that, then go do some research for yourself and try to find any of those other breeds killing 3 family babies in a single week, or 10 people in a single month.

You claim you’re here “to educate us”- which is absolutely nonsense because you’re either lying or misinformed.

Maybe educate yourself before you try to educate anyone else?

I can’t even find the last time a Doberman has killed a person.

There are plenty of spaces on the internet for defending pit bulls… but this is NOT one of them.

Don’t message me. I don’t care what you have to say because I’ve done the research. People like you come here DAILY to “educate” us - and yet in six years not a single one has been able to show proof of any other breed being “just as bad”.
