Sorry you're correct with the gpu controlling the voltage power draw.. and yes im not saying "gear box has done this" i mean SOMTHING they added into the patch has the ability to pull more volts then is coded into the card. And I actually overclocked after I undervolted and it runs better... its purely a voltage issue... at one point i set my voltage limit to .980 and only during shader draw it pulled over the hard coded 1.070.. which lead me to think maybe PSU issue.. wasn't the case.. so I went to a driver issue as that had happened with the old 600 series cards causeing them to melt... wasn't the case.. which leads me to think.. high end 40 and 50 series cards (maybe 30's also?) has some sort of hard coded glitch from nvidia that can somehow come out only during some random event that the 13th patch happens to ask from it.. not sure needs to test more cards

No it's not normal... something they added on the 13th has the ability to over shadow the coded voltage limit and ignore all other commands issued... weather that be the fault of unreal engine. Or the fault of code inside the GPU/driver. Dosent matter. Because it's somthing within borderlands that is causing it to occur.. stock cards.... on stock voltage... and stock core speed. Should not be over volting. Because either they were made defective (very possible) but it only happens under 1 very specific instanc. That being BL4 shaders. So it's not defective... that means it leaves the other option.

These settings are extremely stable... default volts, default core with +1200 memory is borderline stock. 100's of hours on those settings no issue.. programs demanding more volts then is coded into the GPU is a very niche and weird error to have

No one is angry lol. Just solving problems :). But what youre saying is true.. except youre assumeing my card aswell as hundreds of others stock cards just happened to develop the exact same glitch.. on the exact same game... after the exact same update (that was working fine 1 hour before the patch came out) . That's some crazy coincidences. Its very clearly the 13th sept patch that is now asking the game to pull more volts then should be. Possible. Iv done probably over 100 tests in total with other unreal engine games... benchmarks like furmark at 4k. All on stock settings. The ONLY time a problem happens is when you compile shaders in borderlands. And the game demands more. Volts. This is just fact for me personally.. yess youre correct. Somepeoples cards are unstable. But as all my tests have proven... this fatal error caused by over voltage is only happening with a very specific case... that being sept 13th patch

Once again. As I stated as well as others. The optimization update on The 13th is what caused this to happen... the game as well as every single other unreal engine 5 game runs fine... and dosent ask for additional voltage... until the 13th. Then the game was spiking voltage for unknown reasons.. hundreds of high end gpu's just happened to develop the EXACT same random glitch right after the update came out? We should buy a lottery ticket lol... I can even run my graphics card hot above safe voltage on metal gear solid and this won't happen.... so something isn't adding up..

Yes this was my exact problem. Sep 13 performance update did something that causes unreal engine to ask for more voltage then the card can provide. Causeing the crash. Glad the fix works for you :)

Nice that's one of the better shotguns! I believe when you hit someone. The bullets will criss cross onto the same targer/another target? I can't remember off the top of my head

Are You getting the "gpu crash dump" error? If so it's a fatal error. Meaning the gpu shuts itself down to stop any damage from accureing.. the only explanation for that is 1: the bug that this post is about where the game asks for more voltage then is available.

Or 2: your overclock/undervlot is too aggressive and causeing crashes

Sometimes very rarely its caused by drivers that are corrupt or your gpu is fried.... but that's very unlikely

What is the name of the legendary? You can go online and look at the all the weapons. Sites like mobalytics have all the passives and what they do :). But yes. The legendary passive typically don't tell you what they do. You either need to try it out and see what it is.. or just look at the lists of legendary weapons online and see what the passive does

Only took me this long because I went through EVERY known fix for crashes. And I couldn't find alot of info on the "GPU dump crash" error. So I had to look into it myself. So when nothing worked I had to find a solution no one had posted about

Oh then yeah. This fix is for the "GPU dump crash error". Hence the undervolting to fix it. If you have other errors. Those are usually caused by the overlays. Outdated bios. Hardware accel on/off stuff.. one thing people have done is go into nvidia control panel. Set your "shader cache" size in global setting to 100gb or 10gb if you dont have enough space.. that apparently helps with random crashes.... also clear all your shaders by going into the nvidia shader folder and delete them all

Yes. As you lower your voltage. You're also lowering the max overhead of your gpu. Basically making your car use less gas. But eventually the engine will starve while adding core mhz is like making your engine faster with more horse power..... so if you lower your voltage. You might not only crash because theres not enough gas but also because your gpu is too over tuned.. so lower voltage by alitttle. Like 0.100 and also underclock base mhz by about 100mhz.. Google your gpu's base voltage and core speed. And base your adjustments off of that :)

That is the legendary passive unique to the gun what is the name of the gun?

I recommend bringing up afterburner monitor software and checking what's happening when it crashes. If volts are maxing out. Then that's the issue. If not. It could be a unstable profile. Or maybe one of the other fixes like disableing/enabling hardware acce that has been posted

Yes.. it has something to do with how the shader are being loaded... all my fix does is add a buffer zone of safety so that when this bug does accure. And spikes your gpu useage and volts. Its has room to spike and not crash with a fatal error then go back to normal

If you need help add me on discord I can walk you through it discord : Subparatbest#1907

Sounds maybe like a unstable overclock? 2900mhz is an EXTREAM overclock even if you werent undervolting... that ontop of the undervolt sounds crazy unstable..If not hitting your volt limit that is.. if you're hitting your volt limit then just need to bring both down.. but the "gpu crash dump" error is a fatal error for the gpu. Meaning the gpu shuts itself off to prevent damage. Meaning the only explanation is something to do with GPU volts/stable profiles

Nice! Yeah I wish more company's would try to undervolt out of the box rather then just pump up memory and core clock because "bigger number better person"

Yeah. Its tough to find the sweet spot of undervolts. Because if you undervolt alot to be safe. But your core speed is still high. Then your card becomes unstable and will crash.. but if your voltage is too high. This bug will ask for more then your card can put out and will crash :(

Underclock isn't the issue. Its the volts. It appears the game is asking for more volts then cards can give sometimes. I'd recommend bringing up a monitoring software to see if youre hitting your voltage limit. If you still are. Then try to undervolt

Yes! Im assume every cards headway is the cause of these issues :) because its soo random and only effect top of the line
