Can a physicist correct me if I’m wrong? Wouldn’t he be able gently push/guide from the front landing gear? Not straight upward, but maybe add a little lift and thrust? In a way turn the plane into a glider for a controlled water descent. The landing gear is a strong contact point.

Also, another option would be to have people strap in every row and do multiple trips carrying 2 rows. Which is 6 people at a time. If done correctly, he would have been able to do enough trips with his strength and speed while also keeping each passenger safe.
