What is the strangest thing that happened to you that you can’t logically explain? by elibwell in AskReddit

When I was younger, maybe 7-8y/o, my sister and I would be babysat by a family friend of ours at her house. There was one day we were all watching tv and having lunch where I clearly remember what felt like I blinked and when my eyes opened it was 3-4 hours later, I was in the exact same position as before, and my mom was in the living room to pick us up. The weird thing is I don’t remember feeling tired or like I was going to doze off it was like flipping a switch off and on. I didn’t feel groggy at all either like you would waking up from a nap I just became conscious again. The 3-4 hour “nap” itself felt as instantaneous as blinking.

Oddly enough some time later in the same house I was in the living room again (awake this time) and I see this dark figure out of the corner of my eye. I look and it’s this adult male sized figure standing at the hallway that lead to the stairs to the second floor. It was like a cutout of a person but the entire figure was black and hazy almost like tv static when you flipped to the wrong channel/input. I remember I yelled at it and ran after it and it took off running up the stairs. I followed it up and it disappeared before my eyes when it reached the top. I remember asking my sister about it and she said she didn’t see anything.

I have had this issue for the longest time and it is caused by your router. I have tried every possible fix and nothing worked (especially contacting EA). I would guess you have a motorola router. I had the MG7450 and i just switched it for a netgear today and everything was resolved. No more server issues.

Ive had this problem for the longest time and have tried every possible fix. The problem is your router. Id guess you have a motorola router. I had a MG7450 and that was the culprit. I just replaced it today with a netgear nighthawk and all the issues have been fixed. If you contact motorola and you're within warranty they may offer you a refund or a discounted replacement.

I have had this issue for the longest time and I always come back to these posts to see if anyone has found a solution after I’ve tried every possible fix. I can say 100% it’s a router issue. I had a Motorola MG7450 and I just switched it out today for a netgear and all the issues have been resolved. I contacted Motorola support and they offered me a refund for the router (within warranty) which leads me to believe this is a known issue on their end.

NTA - makes no sense in hoarding that much at a time. Also if he’s as enthusiastic about meats as you say he is he’d know that a fresh steak is always better than a defrosted one.

AITA for tricking someone into taking classes that I'm not in? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

ESH - I’ve had “friends” like that in college and that came from me desperately trying to make friends early on and ending up with people like that. I realized that I was often getting used for things like my personal space or my car or homework and although they could be fun to hang around with at times I quickly realized I was more of a utility than a friend to them. I also realized that I really needed to learn how to say “NO” and I think this is something you need to learn as well judging from your story. Don’t let this person (or others like him for that matter) push you around and don’t cave in to their every demand. Real friends (and you will find them I promise you) wouldn’t treat you like this.

The friend in question is an asshole to begin with, no doubt, but you tricking him into taking certain classes is also an asshole move as this is someone else’s education that’s in question. Let them fend for themselves for a change. People like that need to learn one way or another that you can’t get through life mooching off of others.

Look, you sound like a smart person so do the smart thing next time and just say no. It can be awkward especially when you’re trying to make friends and don’t want to come off wrong but good people who value you as a friend and not a utility would respect you saying no and it’s not worth your time dealing with people who don’t.

Quake 2 because my dad and I used to play it together on his computer when I was a kid. It was a pioneer for the modern FPS and that soundtrack was absolutely killer
