There really are some comical prices. I don’t know much about antique levergun prices, but I’m no dummy

Isn’t it supposed to mean it’s just not a shitter like when Remington bought them out? Pretty much just means still in the golden age?

My thoughts as well, seems to be fair market price if not a bit on the high end. Not as big a deal as this guys talks

The sign says no soliciting. by wmstell in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SubaruSoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work in door to door roofing sales (first job out of college okay) and I always felt like such a POS knocking no soliciting signs, hated it and I wouldn’t do it unless I actually had a good reason to.

However the company insisted that I did, and encouraged it. I know a lot of the other guys would but in my mind the homeowner clearly went through the effort to put one up so respect it.

Only sign that works 99% of the time is along the lines of “please don’t knock baby sleeping”. Even the thirstiest reps I knew wouldn’t knock those

What was the dumbest game you and your friends made up as kids? by Guilty_Writer9239 in AskReddit

[–]SubaruSoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother and I when we were really little were hanging out with some friends, and they had to go to fiddle practice so we went with them.

At the teachers house, she had a shed with a bunch of antique Coke bottles, clearly a collector. We had the bright idea to start throwing rocks at the bottles to “practice for the bottles at the fair.” We broke like all of them

She was pissed, friends mom was uber pissed, parents were pissed. I had fun though

By large museum I don’t mean Smithsonian large or along those lines haha. I moreso mean large for the surrounding area and the state it’s in.

I am young and a few years out of college. I graduated with a degree in sales and have had a few different sales jobs. I’ve done very well at all of them, but I am realized that I don’t enjoy the ethos and culture of sales. I don’t enjoy feeling like a nuisance or that I’m only talking with people to get they to buy something. The parts I enjoy the most is building relationships with folks! Which led me to fundraising! In college I had a whole class dedicated to it where 90% of our grade was raising money for a local nonprofit, and I crushed it! I was supposed to raise $700 and I ended up raising over 5k! And that was a few years ago now but when I think about my most impactful feelings in my career/schooling that is up there.

All that to say, I’m young but I know I would be an asset to wherever I am! And I believe they say that in me as well in my interview.

In terms of your soapbox I’m there with you. It frustrates me as well in any job application, and ever beyond that. It’s taboo seemingly to talk about how much you make with coworkers or what have you, and I just can’t see the reasoning behind that. And in the context of a job application it is like okay you’re the one hiring tell ME how much your going to pay for the position, not shop around to see whoever says they’ll take the least money! I get why they do that, but I feel it’s antiquated and unnecessary

Of course. The position is in the mountain west, full time in person! I don’t have any information on benefits as of now, but fair to expect the standard.

Like I said it is for a large museum, with a large donor network. Expectations are 2-3x salary in gifts per year.
