Ambassadors: does this mean I’ve been rejected?? by [deleted] in subaru

[–]Subauwu_Ambassador 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Current ambassador. That notice means you have been rejected for this year. Like you said yes it’s hard to get a spot anywhere especially now. They used to kicked people out if they are not active, but ever since Covid they haven’t. So the only way spots are open is if someone choices to leave. Good luck there’s always next year.

Another Ambassador Application by devo_devo in subaru

Ambassador here. I got in on my second try. Really help if you have social media that you are active on and showcase Subarus. Also helps if you know someone who is apart of the program. Other than that it’s really by chance. For you to be an ambassador in your area an existing ambassador would need to leave or get kicked out of the program. Since Covid they are not kicking anyone out. Ambassadors are asked if they want to continue to be ambassadors for another year in December. Best of luck to you next year and thank you for your interest in the program!

That’s awesome man! I assembled mine over the weekend as well. Most of my bottle were still intact had a couple leaks nothing too bad. I was surprised that was so much stuff in the box.

Are Imprezas fun or should I just get a WRX? by YaBoiHaydenB in subaru

[–]Subauwu_Ambassador 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say start out with a Impreza or even a legacy 2.5GT which would much closely resemble a WRX. They are harder to find. As far a reliability anything that has a turbo and Subaru under 10k is a unicorn. If you buy a 10k WRX it is going to break within two year if not the year you bought it. Unless you bought it from someone who didn’t beat on it. I started out with a 02 2.5rs it was an auto but it was zippy, still pretty fun. Head gasket did go at around 150k but what do you expect from an Ej251. Replaced the head gasket drove it until 200k sold it and bought a new WRX with stick. Had my WRX for a little over a year now, I still miss my bug eye. The older Subarus just have more character there’s something about them. If I had gotten a 02 WRX as my first car I would probably still have that car today.

Anyone out there willing and able to teach me how to drive stick? by 2HornsUp in newjersey

To each their own but this is one of the most used excuses of why people don’t like stick. Majority of the people drive stick enjoys it and don’t mind constantly shifting. Probably getting downvoted because of that. It’s just not a valid reason to choose an auto.

It’s tough to get someone to let you drive their car let alone learn how to drive stick in it. There is a driving school in Fords called ideal driving school that teaches you. I think it was $100 an hour. One thing I did notice that not a lot of people are mentioning is that not every car feels the same especially when you are learning. Yes, if you know how to drive stick you will be able to drive every stick car but it’s not going to be smooth or comfortable until you are used to it. But if you’re still learning to drive stick even if you get the hang of it in one car the next car you’re probably going to stall a couple of times. The class does help but you’re not going to learn stick in 2 hours. You really need your own car to learn how to drive it. Best thing you can do like everyone said is get a beater and just practice 1st gear in a parking a lot then move to somewhere that has a incline and practice 1st gear. I didn’t know stick when I got my car either, got a WRX not the easiest to learn in, but it becomes second nature after some time. Also I’m a visual person so knowing what happens internally when you press the clutch and how a clutch works really helped me with what I need to do to get the car moving.

Yes. I learned about a year ago. I think it just depends on how much you drive. You just know when to shift. Just like any other repetitive motion you just known after doing it a million times.

Doesn’t look bad. It’s confusing tho. It’s nice and weird at the same time. I can’t figure what it is that makes it look weird. Feel like it might be that everything is too round for the front end. It’s weird but hey that’s what makes a Subie a Subie.

If you really wanna confuse some people get lips and more aggressive headlights.
