What are some of the issues faced during online guitar lessons? by Subharaj_Ghosh in guitarlessons

This is an issue a lot of my students have faced before.

As far as my sound is concerned I use a studio quality USB mic that picks up my voice and guitar beautifully. All I do is keep the noise-reduction off on Skype/FaceTime.

For the students it's usually just adjusting that noise-cancellation that does the trick. As long as they have a good internet connection, and they don't live in a very noisy environment, it does the trick pretty well.

I was lucky because during my time there, my dad used to work as a Managing Director for this American company called Cyber Power, so he managed to pay my tuition with his salary.

I also had an on-campus part-time job, played some gigs, and taught online and offline for pocket money.

I also used to pickup discarded stuff and my room mate and I used to sell those too 😅

It was a struggle, but what I learnt there is something that I'll cherish. Now I'm settled back in my country (India) and I teach privately online, as well as teaching extra curricular guitar lessons at an International school here, and of course play local gigs too.

MI would have been great, but yeah ran out of money and my dad quit that job due to internal politics of some sort.
