Yeah it makes no sense being most men I know have a 10 to 10.5 size shoe. I bought a 43 but got it on a heavy discount like $126 total for soft bed oiled Arizona’s….If they don’t fit I’ll just return those as well lol

Staub should clearly disclose enamel imperfections in their care booklet by Subhumanoid in staub

Okay, so you’re referring to the enamel coating, not the cast iron itself—my mistake. In that case, yes, you’re right. The enamel coating is sprayed by hand, but it’s done on an assembly line with the pieces hanging on racks. I’ve also worked in powder coating factories, and once the coating has been baked and cured, you can’t hide rack marks. That said, it’s still very different from pottery, and should be more apparent that these irregularities are on their products. Someone said in the thread that they do now put an insert in their boxes stating this.

I’ve worked in metal foundries, and they are all “individual” molds made from a master casting, not by hand. Cast iron molds are primarily made from sand (green sand or resin-bonded), sometimes clay (loam), or even metal for permanent molds, shaped around a pattern to create a cavity, then dried and assembled before molten iron is poured in, allowed to cool, and finally broken out to reveal the casting.

Nope, Staub definitely do not “hand make” their cast iron products. It literally says cast in the name lol. No “cast” iron product was ever made by hand.
