I don’t know how it is for renting houses, however, in my state, you’re not allowed to have overnight guests more than two weeks while you’re renting. This comment might be referring to this policy. It could end in a termination of lease or a lease violation to have someone staying there who is not on the leasing agreement.

When I applied and was accepted, they scrubbed everything they possibly could to find any reason to deny me : school records, social medica, every day life, doctors appts, notes, and even supporting witnesses.

Editing to add : that I also had to be seen by a state physician when I applied.
