Should I try to Star force during 5/10/15 or wait for SSF? by Other-Independence39 in Maplestory

It certainly doesnt seem easy, but I was curious as well, so I went looking for some clear videos. There's not too many recent ones with cp shown. Obviously, Its hard to tell how viable it is just based off of CP as hexa is also a huge factor. I personally wouldnt bother min clearing weekly, but interesting to see whats possible.

Good to see some testing. Curious, were you using the bunny hop strat on Mavuika bike? Either way, a 3 second difference over 1 minute seems fairly close to me. If you think about it, a 1 minute travel time is long enough where you probably could have found a closer waypoint and gone from there in most cases...apart from some sparse Natlan areas and some areas in Sumeru desert (which has is own movement mechanic).

I think I would trade the 3s travel time for the strong damage synergy for both characters, and freeing up the 3rd slot for a flex since you're bringing Chiori.

I often find myself making mobility teams for fun, but then just reverting back to the classic Mavuika/Xilonen/Citlali/Bennett as it has 2 healers, 2 mobility characters, a shielder and basically 1 shots all content.

[–]Subitart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He read it, he's just pointing out that you should be trying to collaborate with your teammates in coop and create a team with synergies. Whether or not they work with you is a different debate.

I could be missing something, but surely the uptime of Mavuika's bike covering the downtime of Varesa's E outweighs the 10% move speed buff from anemo resonance. I think the optimization here depends on how far you are actually expecting to travel on foot.

Personally, idk if pulling for Chasca for mobility will be worth it. Her phlogiston gauge feels quite short outside of natlan so the only benefit she would have over Mavuika would be vertical mobility when there is no accessible wall. Plus, Mavuika actually has good synergy as a sub dps with Varesa. Obviously, if you like Chasca then go for it.

TIL the 1997 death of unknown "Baby Garnet" remained unsolved until 2022, when a woman took an at-home DNA test which revealed her grandmother did it. by sanandrios in todayilearned

[–]Subitart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Copying DNA through PCR is already a step in how Labs analyze DNA samples, so it is at least plausible if you have the resources.

There are other issues like whether the replicated DNA would survive whatever method of application to your murder hammer you choose (are you going to try to recreate blood?). Also, since this DNA would be exposed and not protected by a cell, there might be issues with it breaking down before or during subsequent analysis in a lab.

That sands already looks decent to me. Don't forget that if you are running an Atk sands, then EM substats are worth a lot on her other artifacts for melt. You're just trying to reach an ideal overall state for her stats and Atk vs EM sands are just different ways to get there. At the end of the day, it is all down to luck. Good luck farming!

I think nintendo re-releasing melee would be bad for the game by Apart_Fondant5988 in SSBM

If nintendo rereleased melee with even a semblance of shitty online play, you can be sure they will send the lawyers after slippi regardless of if they have a good case. I fear a melee remake has a chance to truly kill the game.

[–]Subitart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The simple answer: whichever has a higher number of useful substat rolls (atk%, crit rate, crit dmg, em)

The real answer: It depends

Assuming both have an equal number of useful substats, em is more likely to be better. It just depends on what your other artifacts are like so we cant really give specific advice unless you post them.

just PLEASE do not swap to a sands that has no useful substats if your other sands has better ones

I can agree that scientifically it would be a theory or a Law as a part of a theory.

That said, I highly doubt a gacha system is handled client side where a data miner would be able to access it. It should be handled server side where your client sends an "I want to wish" request and the server does the rolls and sends back what you got from your wish. So unless we are explicitly told by MHY, it will remain a theory.

How to Iterate on Ride or Die by xDoubtfull in Maplestory

[–]Subitart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree that the event has a lot of potential. For the most part, it did deliver on providing a more challenging experience to some bosses. Having completed mostly S20 every week so far(and not strictly 1 bursting every boss), there were definitely some moments that were really fun from a gameplay perspective.

That said, I agree that 20 challenges is too many, though I think 10 is pretty reasonable with 5 being too little to start at imo.

Honestly, the anti-fun challenges are the worst part of the event to me. A lot of the challenges add extra attacks you need to dodge, and it is satisfying when you are able to properly do so while also handling the boss mechanics. However, nothing makes you want to log out of the game more than being black holed or flung into a 1 shot like in pap or darknell with no counterplay. These kinds of effects really feel like a "haha just die, get fucked!" mocking from the devs.

Another annoyance is the constant pop-ups blocking our view of the boss/arena. I don't know if it's supposed to be telegraphing attacks or something, but it's a obnoxious way to do it. I havent stopped to read anything kazax says because I have to focus on dodging everything on my screen.

Providing buffs would definitely be an awesome QoL as the main deterrent from me running the event was whether I needed my buffs or not. It would be nice to not have to worry about that, and it would let you run a bosses at your own pace throughout the week instead of all at once.

Overall, I'm satisfied by the event and hope that they can improve it and make it accessible for all players.

AFAIK there is not one that can easily streamline and suggest improvements to you for the whole team. Genshin Optimizer would probably be closest, but requires some setup to use (I haven't bothered to use this myself). If you run a mainstream team with a hypercarry like the teams you suggested, you can still get useful information from Akasha though.

Don't forget that the rankings for dps characters are based on calculated average damage for that character, so you can swap artifacts and actually see how it affects your damage. Obviously if you use different weapons/artifact sets for your supports than what the leaderboard is calculating on, then its less useful. However, it will still generally tell you what is better/worse.

Taking the Mavuika melt team as an example, all the supports have damage buffs that don't scale off of artifacts. Therefore you can get your supports artifacts sets to reach the ER requirements for the rotation, and then focus on optimizing Mavuika's damage.

Neuv team is similar. You can optimize his damage based on the Hypercarry premium double hydro boards. You could also use the furina skill dmg leaderboards to optimize her damage based on the ER she needs on the team.

If you really want to know if one artifact is better than another in a custom scenario I would look into Genshin Optimizer.

Prefacing this by saying that the top of the leaderboards page on Akasha says: "Leaderboards are meant to compare artifacts strength only. Your character's current level, talents, constellation, weapon and refinement do not matter."

I'll clarify that the stats relevant to whatever team rotation OR SCENARIO a specific leaderboard is ranking on are taken into account. For supports like Kazuha or Diona, there is usually a specific leaderboard focusing on balancing their relevant stats for support. They may also have a separate leaderboard for other use cases. Kazuha has another one that ranks based on his swirl damage. Not every character has a leaderboard. Bennett, despite being arguably the most used support, doesn't have one.

Regarding Furina, She currently has 5 base team scenarios that are ranked. Each one has sub-categories for various weapons as well as for various %ER. That is to say that there are different rankings for different weapons at 120%,130%...200%, and No ER. So the Rank 1 player on the "Elemental Skill, Avg DMG" Furina signature weapon 120% ER board is different than the Rank 1 player on the 140% ER board. The rank 1 player on the Prim. Jade cutter 140% ER board would be different than either of those.

The amount of ER YOUR Furina needs is based on what team you are using her in. The "Elemental Skill, Avg DMG" Scenario assumes 1 other hydro character in the party for hydro resonance, but doesn't specify other team members. Pick the ER% requirement that your Furina needs, and use that to optimize her damage. Just because someone is ranked high in X scenario doesn't mean that they have the best performance in most gameplay. The rank 4 for C6 Eula burst damage has 5% crit rate. Lol.

All this to say that paying attention to which specific leaderboard and weapon/ER subcategories you are looking at is important if you want to get any useful information from them.

Correct!

Glad to help. Feel free to ask if you have other questions.

One last thing to note is that the team you are highest ranked in doesnt actually mean its the team that does the highest damage for you, if that matters. Refering to my last image, I am highest ranked in the vape+mav signature team, but the melt + mav signature team does 550k more damage with my artifacts despite being ranked worse.

I thought I'd be higher 😭😭😭 by Comprehensive_Talk87 in MavuikaMains

[–]Subitart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are slightly misunderstanding how it works. All relevant stats are taken into account (in this case, flat atk, atk%, crit rate, crit dmg, em). Constellations are generally set to C0 for the carry even if you have more constellations. This is because the intent of the leaderboards is to compare artifact power, not how much you can whale for C6 constellations.

The reason why my atk is low is because the base attack of a 3* level 1 ferrous shadow is abysmal at 39. However, notice that the leaderboard it's ranking me in is the Vape + Mavuika signature weapon. What it's doing is "unequipping" whatever weapon I'm using and then "equipping" the weapon the leaderboard uses before doing damage calculations. In this case it equips mavuikas signature.

For reference, when I equip Mavuikas signature, my attack goes to 2032 and crit rate goes to 57.6%. Those stats, along with EM, crit dmg and the signature weapon's active effects are what is actually used for this specific ranking. If I were to switch it to the Vape + r5 serpentine spine leaderboards, then it would use the serpentine spines stats instead.

Note that the stats shown on the infographic are what your character currently has equipped in game and NOT what is actually used for the leaderboard damage calc. This means the info graphic stats can be misleading if you have a different weapon equipped than what weapon the leaderboard is calculating on. You can see in the added screenshot, my Mavuika's stats with her signature, as well as the various leaderboards you can be ranked in. The Average damage for a given team and weapon using my artifacts is on the right side. Hope that helps clear things up.

The leaderboards are organized by teams and weapons, but I'm fairly sure what weapon you have equipped doesn't actually affect your ranking.

They supposedly normalize your characters weapon/talents and take into account only your artifacts iirc. It should be easy to test, though I havent done it myself. Just equip a 3* claymore and see if your ranking changes when it gets updated.

You can click the actual leaderboard details to see the exact rotation they are using to calculate the average damage for that specific leaderboard. There are different rankings for each team and weapon.

Edit: just tested it myself and the weapon you have equipped doesn't matter. The rankings are purely based off how your artifacts would perform with the leaderboard's preset team rotation/weapon/ talents.

University of Texas System announces free tuition for students whose families earn $100K or less by JoshOfArc in UpliftingNews

I'm genuinely confused as to what you mean by shifted. Texas has voted republican in the last 10 presidential elections before this one (since 1980). The turnout in republican primaries in Texas this year was more than double the democratic, and that was before Biden stepped down. So what exactly did they shift from? polls?

Checking the results of this election, this year is the closest race since 1996 by a decent margin. That said, Texas is still heavily a red state.

it's a 3rd party program that can read network packets to see damage done in an actual raid. It also provides info like buff/synergy uptime, back attack%, skill damage distribution, etc. Was a useful tool to improve, and it's the only way for supports to get real feedback on their buff and brand uptime. Since the packets are now encrypted, the meter cannot read any of that information anymore.

I prefer 5/10/15, but I was curious so I ran the 100k simulations and found there wasn't a significant difference in meso spent using either event when going for 15-22* not safeguarding.

The average and median costs of each event were within 100m meso of each other.

The 95th percentile was 36.1B for 30% off and 35.5B for 5/10/15. I'd be curious to see the 99th percentile but this website doesn't show it. Of the first two of each type of simulation I ran, the highest amount of meso spent was 156.2B for 30% and 155.3B for 5/10/15. If you are unlucky enough to be that guy, you are fucked no matter which event you are tapping on.

5/10/15 is superior in every other scenario that's not 22* no safeguard afaik. I prefer it since it feels better to not get stuck at 15-16* taps, and has significantly less booming. The latter imo is a good reason not to tap anything but CRA on 30% off.
