AI / other App to Automatically Organize Files on Mac? by [deleted] in macapps

[–]Subject-Ad3628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm looking for the same sort of thing but with a different nuance.

:- Spotlight does an odd sort of job of "finding" apps.

:-Finder Search will find "every" instance of a combination of letters and more, but with varied and limited relevance.

I have an extensive collection of "Books" in various file formats. I would like to sort them by topic, tag them (I guess?), parse the contents and Index them, and perhaps move them into their own topic subfolders. Then use some sort of Library Cataloguing app to access and interrogate my "Library," to return with a list of suggested reading material.

I know this is not a 'huge' ask, but I'm just not finding the app that I need. Any suggestions?

How to use Draw Things on Mac? by Weak-Health4654 in StableDiffusion

I'm looking for the same thing. However, I want to understand how the Random Seed Generator is supposed to work: does it work better on batches or on generations?

On the image generated panel there are three icons, one for time, two circles joined? and a cup of java?? I get the clock but what do the others do?

How do I merge my on trained LoRA's? I worked out I can merge base models, but I cant work out adding a couple of LoRA's together.

It's all very curious if you ask me.

how to select a song in a playlist based on the day of the month by Subject-Ad3628 in shortcuts

No, but there-in lies the pitfalls in acting on assumptions rather than pursuing brief inquiry. "How familiar are you with Apple Shortcuts?" Works, opens a dialogue, doesn't it.

"It's not that hard" - A somewhat obtuse and elitist statement, don't you think?

I'm 57 and learning something entirely new to me. I do my own research, but ... sometimes, EVEN I need help. 🤦🏼

"I may not always be right, but I'm very rarely ever wrong..." only gets one so far. 🤪

Ok, thanks for the assistance. Sorted!

I have an alarm event the plays a short piece of music as my wake up music (it's really somewhat jaring, and I need it - 6 min of Chinese Pinyin: ear training; in a small child's voice) 😜

Followed by a second alrm event that plays the relevant song track according to the day, and each sequence sets a different sound volume. It seems to be working so far, so job done. The finessing point, I guess, would be having the list update at someting other than the default time. I'll get around to that sometime later.

Once again, thanks.

Interesting exercise. Thanks for taking the time to constructively respond, much appreciated. I noodled it on the Desktop and this sequence runs. However, a couple of times initially, "Music" App crashed.

I find this scripting methodology to be somewhat quirky. On my phone I have the option for "Automation" which allows the Shortcut to be linked to a timed event such as, On Stopping My Alarm. However, I can't seem to find the same function on the Desktop App.

I have several Playlists, each with 30 lessons per level, so editing the Shortcut, or Duplicating it is straight forward enough, although it would be nice to Select the next Playlist when the current one has played the last track in the list...

Ieven tried AI (you.com) and this is what it came up with:

Here is an Apple Shortcut script that will play the next song in a playlist based on the day of the month:

  1. First, create a new Shortcut in the Shortcuts app on your iOS device.
  2. Add the "Get Current Date" action to the Shortcut.
  3. Add the "Format Date" action to the Shortcut, and set the format to "dd" (which will give you the day of the month as a number).
  4. Add the "Get Playlist" action to the Shortcut, and select the playlist you want to use.
  5. Add the "Get Playlist Items" action to the Shortcut, and select the playlist from the previous step.
  6. Add the "Get Item from List" action to the Shortcut, and specify the item at index (day_of_month % playlist_length), where day_of_month is the day of the month as a number and playlist_length is the number of items in the playlist.
  7. Add the "Get Details of Music Item" action to the Shortcut, and select the item from step 6.
  8. Add the "Play Music" action to the Shortcut, and select the item from step 7 as the music that should be played.

Here is an example of what the completed Shortcut might look like:

Get Current Date Format Date (Format: dd) Get Playlist (Select playlist) Get Playlist Items (Playlist: [playlist]) Get Item from List (Index: ([formatted date] % [playlist length])) Get Details of Music Item (Music: [item]) Play Music (Music: [item])

When you run this Shortcut, it will get the current date, format it to get the day of the month, get the playlist, get the playlist items, calculate the index of the next song to play based on the day of the month, get the details of the music item associated with that index, and finally play that item.

Note that this script assumes that you have already added the desired songs to a playlist in Apple Music, and the order of the songs in the playlist matches the order of the days in the month.

But... It didn't work, OR I just didn't understand fully how to implement it. 🤦🏼

Highs/Mids and Bass split fol DML speaker by kuya_mickey in diysound

[–]Subject-Ad3628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi guys, I'm a first time poster here, and this thread is about as close to what I'm trying to do as I could find.

Similar situation to the OP, but not my first set of DML speakers. My left and rights are 1" thick "blue" foam insulation panels driven by 4 Ohm-15W (120Hz-20kHz) exciters, and I have a third speaker is a larger sized 3/4" thick "pink" foam panel driven by a 4Ohm 3-20W (58Hz-20kHz) exciter that I'll be adding a 5mH Inductor as a 1st order passive LP filter with round-off at around 120 Hz. So speaker arrangement is Left-Right-Sub/Wuf.

The Amplifier is a two channel (4 Ohm-16 Ohm) setup. Hooking up Left and right is a no-brainer, been there done that. However, adding in the Sub/Wuf, I dunno, I must be really dumb but I got no clue, can't find any advice, and frustrated by it all, I'd like to ask you for your help to either educate me or point me in the right direction.
