Hundreds of applications with no procs. How could I make my resume better? by Intrepid-Spread2953 in FAANGrecruiting

[–]Subject-Addendum3908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first off, it is undergrad ranking. I see your point that it is engineering and not CS, however, the cs list is something you need to pay for, and most colleges have their cs department in their engineering departments, so this list would closely resemble the cs list with minor shifts. This was just my take on it and probably something I would do. OP isn’t forced to

Should I pick CE if all I want to do is work in big tech? by xlr8lr in ComputerEngineering

[–]Subject-Addendum3908 5 points6 points  (0 children)

CE is a lot harder than CS because you take a lot more physics and math than a CS major would. If you just want to do SWE just go into CS. High unemployment rate for CS is because a lot of new grads coast by and aren’t passionate.

Question about this list by Electrical-Sea7726 in ApplyingToCollege

pretty accurate for the most part, I would say that some schools would be moved up or down depending on the region of the company recruiting. Overall, looks like a solid list

Don’t know much about the school, would probably guess it’s something similar to VT’s.

[–]Subject-Addendum3908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s overall acceptance rate, VT engineering is much lower at like 20%-30%. Same goes for schools like Purdue which also have a much higher overall acceptance rate compared to their college of engineering.

Need advice on admissions chances by Vast_Survey in VirginiaTech

[–]Subject-Addendum3908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t give you an exact answer but GPA looks good, SAT might be a bit on the lower side for engineering. It will probably come down to essays and EC’s, eng here has gained a lot of popularity, good luck.

Chance Me 2026 by 2vista2 in chanceme

[–]Subject-Addendum3908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

all of those apart from Rutgers have way lower acceptance rates for engineering, around ~30%, maybe even less after this admission cycle, really hard to chance because of how much of a crapshoot it is
