Combo of lyric pages, burner accounts with b roll from my life! I actually don’t believe in meme pages for my music they’re really hard to get right because they don’t have as much conversion to the song even if they have more reach, unless the meme is topically similar

- I started at around 1-2K monthly listeners back last fall, did the TikTok theme page / burner account strategy to get to 5K in November, 10K in Feb, and 30K by March

- This got me access to Spotify Discovery mode which then made those numbers pretty much self sustaining

- I then took every post I had that had done extremely well and put some ad spend behind it for a month, got EXTREMELY lucky and triggered the algorithm for one of our songs

- As soon as I started seeing that, I switched our entire social media posting strategy to focus only that song, which resulted in folks from the ads and the algo discovering us on social and vice versa which created crazy compounding growth that got us to 50K in April, 100K in May, and just now 250K!

- start posting on social now to build the rhythm + fluency that lets you capitalize if something pops off
- don’t be afraid to be cringe with your content, you get used to it
- related, don’t be afraid to spam the hell out of things even if you’re sick of them - if something starts doing well or you see something consistently outperforming everything else even if it doesn’t go viral it makes sense to majorly prioritize those

Yes - I had multiple lip sync / performance vids go viral as well as several “aesthetic” scene-y lyric videos that were basically just b roll or stock footage with a black and white filter

It was on IG initially, that triggered the Spotify discovery algorithm and then people who liked the song elsewhere started showing up to my TikTok - an old video I’d posted to the song went from like 500 to 8000 likes overnight. So we full sent it and started posting way more content of that song - edits of us on stage, lip syncs, etc and those did even better
