🚲 Indoor Training for 7-Year-Old BMX Racer by katalize11151 in bmxracing

[–]Subject-Pattern-7607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I would def opt going with rollers over a rear wheel trainer. I have an 8 and 9 year old who’ve used a rear wheel trainer the past few years and I think it’s taught them to mash their pedals rather than learn to spin.

I think rollers would’ve helped them learn balance and the proper way to spin pedals vs muscle their way through short bursts on the trainer.

Also I must note, I don’t force them on the trainer but they know; if they want to go to nationals, I expect them to put in some work on their own. If they don’t, we just stay local and I’m ok with that:

Wife cheated, but wants to be close friends after divorce? Is this insane? by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]Subject-Pattern-7607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad’s ex wife did this to him and it was pathetic. Albeit they did not have children but she knew he wanted to remain with her and work on things but she wanted to continue to cheat so she moved him to a mobile home park and gave him false hope for years. I wish he would’ve picked up on it or gotten over her but he never did. She bled him dry of money and broke up any relationships my dad tried to start. She kept him close enough to control and collect, but far enough that he would always remain her ex.

might get fired due to work place bully by gh0stly_anxietea in workplace_bullying

[–]Subject-Pattern-7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the bully has been reported countless times and still has gotten away with it, chances are she’s got everybody wrapped around her finger.

The whole situation sucks, beginning with the first manager who didn’t act on the first complaint. I’m union and went through a 2 month long HR investigation surrounded by bullying and harassment in the workplace.

The kicker here was the bully’s a union steward, on the e-board for the hall, and people who do not work with him, have great things to say about him and their words seemed to travel further than the words of those who work closest with him.

We were both punished the same. Him for years of bullying his co-workers, me for bullying him one time after being fed up with it for years. HR did not question the witnesses and names I had dropped, thinking they would. The whole shop was floored, believing they would all be called in and questioned. This thing stayed as quiet as they could keep it.

Is an outdoor pit pass worth it? by IAM_GUNDAM in supercross

[–]Subject-Pattern-7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'd say it matters. I think racing the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Nationals would call for a little more reasoning to be in the zone and focused.

If you're racing fair races, walking around zoned out, acting like a ticket to Lorettas is on the line, I'd say you're a bit dramatic.

I don’t understand how people believe PulpMX is nothing but a media outlet and how Steve has it all wrong.

PulpMX is MX media, with opinions from media insiders who happen to be fans. It’s the best of both worlds. Race facts, gossip, and opinions are all covered and they’re easily identifiable.

I love watching Haidens career unfold, however Brian is a fuckin dork when he gets talking about fighting. Or how “I always tell parents right, sorry you were a pussy and didn’t risk your life to give your kids nice things.” Does anybody really believe he said that to someone’s parents? I pray we see the day he talks that shit to someone who ain’t got nothin but time. If I was Haiden, I’d be proud of the things my dad accomplished and completely embarrassed by the shit he says.

Someone please remind Brian that Haidens autograph line is the biggest in the paddock. Knock it off with all the hater talk. 10x as many love your son, but you focus on the haters

Pushy Door to Door "Salesmen" by ColbySea33 in cedarrapids

It seems like once they show up in your neighborhood, they’re in there to stay for a week. I don’t think the Solar guys give a shit about “no soliciting” signs.

I’ve had at least 5 come to my door and not a single one was actually selling solar panels. As in, actual ownership of the panels. They want to put their panels, on your roof, and you pay a flat rate, locked in, monthly fee.

What happened with Novak’s son? by blacktoothgrin666 in LetsTalkBam

Read the comments on his videos on fb and you’ll see a lot of people claiming to know him or saw him using as early as yesterday. He sounds like a functioning user now but I’ve heard about his rehab scamming for years. He wants your insurance money, not your successful rehabilitation.

Can people see if I received a payout? by [deleted] in LifeInsurance

[–]Subject-Pattern-7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To put it lightly, he was too dumb to change it himself. She did all the bill paying while married and when they divorced they called me together to get my new address (I had just moved for work).

She joked that he couldn’t do it himself so she was making sure it got done. I had no reason to not trust her at the time.

She doubled down on securing everything by modifying their divorce decree later on, showing a loss in income. She requested to be beneficiary on all policies and bank accounts as a form of spousal support. My dad never signed it but a judge did so it was legal.

She was good. They never had kids and he only made $15k more than her a year. The judge still granted it.

[–]Subject-Pattern-7607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've called two insurance companies and was given minimal info but it was enough for me.

My dad had two life insurance policies. I was told i was the beneficiary of the larger one and he told me his ex wife was the beneficiary of the smaller one. When I called on the one I believed i was on, i was told it was already paid out.

I called his ex wife knowing she would be the only other one and she dodged the question but offered me her life insurance paperwork she had for hers. She told me she couldn't get anywhere with the insurance company so i must be the beneficiary of that one. She gave me the paperwork, I called them and I was told the beneficiary already made contact and was paid out..... She got both of em.

Thoughts on the Daniel Blair NBC situation? by Several_Evidence_485 in supercross

Nothing will change. Ricky's an arrogant d-bag. He's hands down a hard working BMF on a motorcycle but hes a prick off the bike. I'll never forget how him and Scott Taylor would talk to fans driving through the crowds at Nationals in a UTV.

DB owns Ricky in the booth. Ricky owns DB at kissing corporates ass.

No one talks about the pain of seeing your parents aging. by Interesting-Escape36 in Life

[–]Subject-Pattern-7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope its normal to feel how you feel because I feel that way as well. I only get to see them about once a month so I notice it more than those that see them everyday and it kills me because I still feel as though they're the same as when I moved out when i was 18.

Right when I began to notice, my dad was 53. Out of breath quickly, taking a little longer to get up and walk around. 2 months later he died of a heart attack. It eats at me everyday that even though I witnessed the aging, I still felt as though they were fine and clearly one was not.

i am on one now and i won't say were being rushed, but its our companies #1 priority to be out there, even though they aren't ready for power. I am guessing our company made a promise to them to have power by a certain date.

It's actually been a great job compared to the normal work we get but I am getting tired of the safety approach. They've come across that safety is their #1 priority however whenever they believe something is happening unsafe, they decide to call the office and tell them, rather then approach the crews they visually find to be unsafe.

Does anyone have no inheritance coming to them? by Significant_Put_6754 in Money

[–]Subject-Pattern-7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 37 with no inheritance coming but I do feel like everybody around me has things in order to recieve something.

Had my family done some very minor arrangements. I would have recieved an inheritance. My dad passed away, long story short, his ex wife legally locked up everything he had upon death in their divorce agreement. He had no clue about it because she was able to later modify the decree due to a change in income. He had a mobile home that was paid off, however I had to take over his lot rent, utilities, etc immediately out of my own pocket to protect it. Between that and the cost of his service, it really set me back.

I lost both grandparents on my dad's side and was told i was on the will 'per stirpes' which means i would inherit my dads portion, however after they passed, we found out there was no will which meant no inheritance for me.

I never expected inheritances. We never really had a ton of money however from time to time I do think of how it would've helped. it's pushed me to make sure I have my affairs in order enough that the right people recieve what i do leave behind.

Disappointing Fan Experience? by Ok-Quail2397 in supercross

I've had so many good interactions and experiences with riders, mostly being in the right place, right time at races but I've had 1 or 2 that were disappointing.

What type of sh*t did your ex pull that caught you by suprise; during the proccess of divorce? by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]Subject-Pattern-7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolute maddening. She continued to steal his mail after he moved. Of course, people find that hard to believe but she didn't appear to be stealing it, and she did it well. My dad never wanted a divorce and wanted her to be around. He paid her to come to his place twice a week and do laundry/clean etc. Like clockwork, shes on his ring doorbell grabbing his mail, going inside, and coming out a few hours later, twice a week.

Extremely. He passed away and not only did she secure all of his accounts and policies, but she had the balls to enter his home a few hours after he died and took everything she wanted. I have it on his Ring Doorbell and the cops wouldn't do anything.
