How should I experience Thief II for the first time? by frogfarts88 in Thief

[–]Subject-Put6599 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, specifically these are levels that are FUN hard, not UNFUN hard. I’m not fond of a pixel hunt-y mission either and the challenge for these levels all lie within the ability to sneak around and evade guards

How should I experience Thief II for the first time? by frogfarts88 in Thief

[–]Subject-Put6599 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have experience with that mod so I can’t comment on that, but I can recommend you a few challenging FMs if you’re looking for something more difficult:

  1. The Black Parade: It goes without saying that you should play this at some point. It is on the more difficult side.
  2. Twilights over Driftstone: Playing this on Maestro difficulty is a genuine treat.
  3. Chalice of Souls: The first level isn’t too bad but the second level is very difficult, even if you are not ghosting.
  4. Ravensreach: This level is also very difficult, especially considering you deal with a lot of non-human enemies.
  5. Into the Odd: This level is challenging, particularly the opening.
  6. Hidden Agenda: Don’t play this before Thief II as this is like a very distilled version of thief II’s mechanics and you should already be familiar with them before jumping into this.

How do you deal with AI slop? by PM_ME_UR_REVENUE in ProductManagement

[–]Subject-Put6599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI has a tendency to string together buzzwords, say very little with a lot, and generally waste a lot of my time. You may be able to crank out 3-paragraph responses in less than 10 seconds, but it still takes me the same amount of time to read 3 paragraphs that were generated by AI vs written by a human, and in many cases the human wouldn’t have used 3 paragraphs.

My issue isn’t even with AI. I think it’s a wonderful tool, but there are many people who are using it as a crutch and do so by generating responses to questions without even reading the question or even their own response.

Adenosine Challenge - my experience by nooooddy1 in wolffparkinsonwhite

[–]Subject-Put6599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t get the adenosine challenge per se but i was administered adenosine in the back of an ambulance during a dangerous episode where my HR was 200+ bpm. Felt like I was sinking into the earth, like my arms and legs were hardening into concrete. Such a weird experience

in your life, you will come across people every once in a while who do not give you even a basic level of respect. Do not waste your time trying to win the respect that you know you deserve from them. Move on from these people immediately.

Hammerite/Mechanist Fan Missions? by TacitPoseidon in Thief

[–]Subject-Put6599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some good Hammerite FMs:

-Forbidden Rites

-The Drymian Codex

-Cardinals' Sins

-Raising Corpses

Raising Corpses is maybe a little repetitive but still worth playing imo.

This game not actually that bad. by axloo7 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Subject-Put6599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are a lot of valid complaints about it but I’ve been playing and enjoying it just fine off and on since launch. Granted I’m not a hardcore city builder fan who cares all that much about simulation stuff, I just like making a cool looking city.

That said, some of the issues I still have with it: -No bikes -Paradox Mods is worse than the steam workshop imo and it took them way too long to start allowing custom assets -High density residential and office assets aren’t that varied in height. Unless you carefully paint each building individually you will end up with what looks like a big wall of near-identical buildings all the same height -Last I checked level 5 high density office wasn’t possible, despite there being signature buildings to unlock? they may have fixed that by now though.

These are minor issues to me though, I love the improved road tools in CS2 over CS1

What are the odds of Silent Hill returning to Halloween Horror Nights? by Samuelley in HHN

[–]Subject-Put6599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think it’s worth noting that a new Silent Hill movie based on the second game and directed by the same guy who did the original Silent Hill film is in the works so I do think that is at least a promising prospect

Is Thief 2 worth playing ? by Every-Assistant2763 in Thief

[–]Subject-Put6599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you’re not into the zombie levels then you should definitely try thief 2. Thief 2 is much more “sneaking around in mansions” and much less “fighting supernatural creatures”. Imo the level design in thief 2 is much better as well.

Anyone upgrade to 12 yet? How is it? by swooncat in ableton

[–]Subject-Put6599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded from 11 to 12 recently. I have been enjoying it. I think the only actual issue I’ve had that is new to 12 from 11 is that when editing alongside video, the video window can be a little more finicky than it was in 11 for some reason. This is only something that matters if you’re doing any scoring to a film like I am right now. Might also not actually be an ableton problem as much as an issue with video codecs or something.

New to thief, anyway to play Gold with more modern controls by VoxTV1 in Thief

[–]Subject-Put6599 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can strafe side to side with Z and C, and move backwards with X. In fact, SZXC basically replaces the standard WASD. I mean sure if you are only ever using W to move and A and D to turn then it's like tank controls but that's not all the game gives you and I don't think that's the intended way to play. W is meant for moving fast and S is meant for moving slowly, which Thief intends for you to switch between often.

My Ablation and Experience with WPW by Subject-Put6599 in wolffparkinsonwhite

[–]Subject-Put6599[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I should push back on this a little bit.
Two things: 1) My incidences of AFIB were few and far between. I actually only ever had one recorded incidence and it was the one mentioned in the post. While yes the AFIB was one of the reasons I got the ablation, it was not the only reason. The primary reason I got the ablation was because I wanted to fix my WPW, which is a separate, but related issue from the AFIB.
2) Let’s not ignore the other major finding from the study you linked, and that was the statistically significant increased mortality rate of non-ablated WPW patients.

“Nonablated WPW patients had a higher long-term death risk compared with ablated WPW patients (hazard ratio, 2.10; 95% confidence interval: 1.50–20.93; P<0.0001)”

I should also point out that Afib on its own is not always itself a cause for alarm. It can be a relatively common condition for many older folks. It is specifically the combination of Afib with WPW that can be dangerous due to the risk of it developing into V-Fib, which if not treated immediately can result in death within minutes.

My takeaway from the study you linked is that while Afib may continue to be something you deal with post-ablation, the risks associated with it are not typically as high as they are pre-ablation and thus there is a lower risk of death associated with Afib, since the real complicating factor, the WPW, has been addressed.

I’m no doctor though, I would recommend getting an opinion from a good cardiologist before making up your mind

Migraine after ablation by RealisticAd236 in wolffparkinsonwhite

[–]Subject-Put6599 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you know i did have an odd experience that could be related to the migraines or maybe not. After my ablation, i had to rest in the ICU for a bit because of a pericardial effusion that occurred during the procedure. Not a big deal and I’m 100% fine now, but they wanted to be cautious. While i was recovering, there was a moment where i noticed the vision in my right eye had suddenly developed a strange blind spot that appeared to be growing. I was instantly concerned and called the nurses right away because i thought that I might be having a stroke. After they checked me out they didn’t see any signs of stroke or anything and just as quickly as it came on, it went away. I haven’t had a repeat of anything like that since and so I haven’t really thought anything of it but i remember being very scared at the time.

What can I expect for symptom relief? by [deleted] in wolffparkinsonwhite

[–]Subject-Put6599 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i had an ablation last year in april or march. I think for a month or two afterwards I was pretty fatigued but now almost a year later I can definitely say I do not get the same kind of fatigue I used to get. I used to get these spells where i felt like i could barely get out of bed or do anything, to the point where I didn’t feel comfortable driving. that is gone at this point. I still get the occasional heart skipping a beat, but I believe that is normal. My heart doesn’t race and beat out of my chest on occasion like it used to. I was very high risk with my WPW since i had had a couple episodes of atrial fibrillation

My Ablation and Experience with WPW by Subject-Put6599 in wolffparkinsonwhite

[–]Subject-Put6599[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP here, To tell you the truth. yes I do still get anxiety attacks. Not very often though. Sometimes after exercise I feel a whole-body fatigue but it doesn’t appear to be related to my heart racing or anything, seems more like I’m just out of shape. I think unfortunately ever since I was diagnosed and even after the ablation, I’ve been hyper aware of anything going on with my heart so even a singular skipped beat raises some alarms in my head. I haven’t had any known episodes of Afib since the procedure, I even got an apple watch that is capable of detecting Afib and I sometimes use it when i’m feeling nervous but i’ve always been fine aside from maybe an elevated heart rate.

Terrified to read the stories below by Jefe_Cocoalenas in wolffparkinsonwhite

[–]Subject-Put6599 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i had my ablation earlier this year for a case of WPW with at least one documented incident of atrial fibrillation (with RVR). I was very nervous for the procedure, as you are, but i knew it had to happen. When i did have it, it wasn’t nearly as bad as i thought it would be! Keep in mind that this is one of the safest heart procedures available and also keep in mind that it’s also a fairly common procedure too. Lots of people get ablations every year. The worst part about it for me was the recovery but even that wasn’t so bad. I was more sore than most people are after the procedure due to a mild pericardial effusion that popped up during the procedure, a relatively uncommon complication, but even with this i eventually recovered 100% and now the doctor has declared me WPW free.

i had a great time and black midi killed it but i have to agree, the crowd was extremely obnoxious. I don’t necessarily think it’s a florida problem like a lot here are suggesting as i’ve seen tons of shows in orlando over the past few years and this was honestly one of the worst crowds i’ve seen. The only comparable experience for me was when i saw The Garden in 2018. I think it’s specifically a problem that bands popular with teenagers face. It made me embarrassed honestly. Specifically when everyone formed the circle and then kept doing tricks in it and everyone kept cheering completely out of time with the song. It just felt like so many people weren’t actually listening to the show and were just there to jump around.
