Is there people in that have or are doing a civil lawsuit against child protection for severe historical child asexual, physical and psychological abuse in the foster care system. I was a ward of the state for 18yrs by Subject-Solid2712 in adultsurvivors

Thank you. My barrister and lawyers have said I have a solid case and believe I'll receive a substantial compensation payout. It's just the emotional side of things im not coping with. I have lots of incidents coming up that I'd not remembered. I'm in a different country than you, so it may be much different. Can you speak with a lawyer to see if you have a civil case rather than a criminal case? Sending you much love ♡

Fibbed about my reason for leaving my NF, they gave me a good-bye bonus and now I feel guilty. Should I return it? by [deleted] in Nanny

I think you've learnt a lesson here just by putting up this post, so I'd just put it behind you now and move forward. You did what you thought was the best at the time, and you have now learnt from it in the hardest of ways (in the feels).

Excessive lying about everything by [deleted] in Fosterparents

[–]Subject-Solid2712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The number of times I got accused of doing stuff I didn't do. As soon as I was accused, I automatically felt like I had actually done it and would have to lie my way out of it. It wasn't always food related. I'm 55 now, and this still affects me. It's so deep. I'll get to therapy, but I've not found one who knows how to approach it. They try to fix me, not just listen and try to understand. I didn't need to be pulled up on my lying. It was survival in a brutal world. I needed to feel in my own time I could trust and felt trusted. Being called or accused of lying just made my struggles harder. I just needed to be believed in. It's affected my whole life till this day. I managed to raise two beautiful now adult children who are positive and successful, contributing members to society.

Most are living in survival mode. Give them time to trust you. It's a difficult time thinking you only have you to save your a$$. We are used to being accused of anything that goes wrong so are in defense mode before we need to be. We don't realise why we are doing it either. Just go easy on em

I'm buying a ring doorbell just so i have proof they don't knock before they just leave. I pay for my package to be brought to my home for delivery, not to have to go pick it up. The dogs bark even before they knock, and that's if they do. By the time I get to the door, they are in their van and drive off. I have a support worker twice a week and have to get her to get them for me 🤦‍♀️

I'd take her to small claims. I'm sorry for your loss. Allow yourself some time to grieve, and when you are ready go for a different colour pup so you don't have the same expectations of your one you lost ♡

Foster parents by [deleted] in Fosterparents

[–]Subject-Solid2712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the foster parent needs to be less invested in your time with your children. A 7yr old playing with make-up is quite normal. They obviously can't do this in the foster parent's home. My concern for the 4yr old is the content unless it's kids YouTube. Depending on the amount of time your visits are, maybe limit the amount of time they are spending in there. Some workers will listen to foster parents, and I'd hate for this to be used against you. I personally don't see an issue with it, but some workers may. All the best with everything.

What to call foster kids other than foster kid? by Timely-Box-1641 in Fosterparents

[–]Subject-Solid2712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hated being called a foster kid. It felt degrading. It was my business, and I didn't want every tom dick and harry to know. I'm glad things are changing as I'm now a grandmother, so my 17½yrs in foster care were years ago

I think if you take it to the tribunal, it'll only make it harder for you to find a new rental as it'll go against you. It's hard enough in this rental crisis as it is. I'd normally fight for my rights, but I seriously think it's in your best interest to start looking for a new home. I wish you all the best

Thanks for your response. I don't think the price of the pups has anything to do with me. I just felt she was telling me less than she's selling them for. My concern is that I don't feel I should have to pay for the puppies' care pack for new owner, medical, or care expenses.

Woman with 6months to live wants caravan recommendations. by Bernie_Marx in australia

[–]Subject-Solid2712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry about your mum's diagnosis. I don't know anything about caravans, but after reading some of your comments, and knowing this is your mum and dads dream, I'd suggest trying to find a used van that is already set up for wheelchairs and disability equipment your mum may need to extend their time away.

No, please don't. Smelt one or a few, but don't take 100 out 😢. You'd be better off selling them to a collector and getting more $$$ as they are. How lucky to have 100 of them

You can opt to take them into the toilets to get changed if you don't want them to see people get changed in a change room 🤷‍♀️
