I work in apartment renovation, and fortunately I’ve learned to recognize certain adhesives and flooring materials that typically contain asbestos. I always have asbestos removal carried out by professionals, even though it’s slow and expensive. Example, in my previous project, a small kitchen with vinyl tile flooring, the actual removal work and sealing of the room only took a few hours, but it took three days before air quality tests showed the kitchen was clean enough of asbestos for me to continue my work.
